But the victim was a JCPD officer. He's totally allowed to make a left turn from the right lane whenever he wants, no questions asked; its obviously the other driver's fault for being on the road at the same time a cop was trying to make an illegal left turn.

I dont understand why Morales & 2 other people pushed the car back onto its wheels with Officer Timothy Moran still inside the car. Yes they were trying to help but might of done more damage than good.
Im still trying to figure how this happened if they were both driving in the same direction.
Also, what is a Chevrolet Geo? Aint that like saying a Toyota Honda or BMW Jaguar.

Another fine example of how people drive in Jersey City. BTW pushing the car back over was a really bad idea by these people because the cop might've had a spinal injury. In any case he'll probably collect disability for the rest of his life. This is a dream come true for some city workers.

Collision turns cop car on its side

A Jersey City police car was knocked onto its side during a collision near the Holland Tunnel Saturday, reports said.

The officer inside the car suffered non-life threatening injuries and as of yesterday, hadn't returned to work, reports said.

Sammy Morales, 44, of Central Avenue in Jersey City, told police he was driving southbound in the left lane of Jersey Avenue near 16th Street at 11:44 p.m. and Officer Timothy Moran, 54, of Jersey City, was driving beside him in the right lane and heading the same way, reports said.

Morales said the police car, a Chevrolet Geo, made a left turn in front of him and was struck by Morales' Ford pickup truck, reports said.

The police car flipped onto its side and Morales said that when he checked, Moran appeared dazed or unconscious, reports said.

With the help of two other people, Morales set the car back onto its wheels and the officer was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center for a cut on his head, reports said.

Moran has not yet given a statement on the crash because he hasn't returned to work, police said.

No summonses were issued, police said.
