5th theft in 2 weeks
Jersey City police are trying to catch the thieves who made off with $10,000 worth of shrimp from a transportation company near the Jersey City/Bayonne border on Upper New York Bay Thursday afternoon.
Officers responding to MCST Preferred Transportation on Polar Way at 3:30 p.m. were told that 20 boxes of shrimp had been taken from a trailer between 1 and 3 p.m. that day, reports said.
A representative of the company told police the shrimp haul was the fifth burglary there in two weeks, reports said, adding that the company is putting up a fence.
