Re: Happy Ending in the Making

I was a customer at this establishment. It is completely legitimate.
This whole forum feels like a novel set in a small town, where all the neighbors gossip about the local "different" person.

If you want a real review... I found the therapist to be very skilled. He was a bit too talkative and the oil was very fragrant, but all in all, the massage was excellent.

And to the original poster: Yes, there is a daycare in this same neighborhood... but there are also funeral parlors (fact of life), skanky restaurants (some hygiene would be nice), sketchy bars with clients who leave cocaine baggies and hypodermics on my stoop (police couldn't care less) and of course a constant flow of high school kids who smoke an inordinate amount of marijuana in broad daylight (again police don't care).

We gave the place a shot last week. It was very full on a weeknight, and we sat at the bar. I was glad that the televisions were small and high up so that one could enjoy the restaurant without being bombarded with televisions.

Brief review:
Interior is great
Staff good
Food mediocre
Prices high for a tavern, overpriced for food quality

The cocktail prices are on par with hip places in the city, not quite hotel Gansevoort prices but close at 13 or 14 dollar martinis. The question is-- why would they choose to set prices by those standards?

I think that they don't know what they want to be. If they want to be upscale then the menu and food must follow. Otherwise lower the prices, continue serving mediocre expected food and everyone wins. Someday someone will open a top notch restaurant in JC.

I have spoken with Councilman Fulop and the Captain of the JC Police Dept. about Indios. They have promised to add more patrolling to the area and even gave me the cell phone of the late night police captain.

If you see or hear any out of the ordinary violence, please contact the JC police. I know some people will claim that they won't come, but the one night I called to complain about a fight at Indios, a cop car showed up. There is only one way to clean up a neighborhood, and we can do it together.
