What's happening in front of City Hall?

I know there's Groove on Grove and St. Anne's festival, but neither seem to be located here.

Anyone know what's going on? Looks like a street party in the making.

Very true. So bizarre to see that it'll be nearly 40 degrees by this afternoon, yet it's one big sheet of ice out there.

Def be careful. All Ive heard all morning are sirens (I live near City Hall).

I'm located near Marin/Montgomery and was here for Irene. First floor (raised up about 4ft from ground) apt and wondering if I should pack some bags and get on out.

Any long-time JCers have any advice?

Not sure about online menu, but this place has turned into a whole new spot with their restaurant open now. I enjoyed the "lounge" for a fun Fri or Sat night out, but wasn't something I was always up for...the new tapas on the other hand...wow!

Enjoy!

House-Cleaning Services

I thought there was a thread on this already, but couldn't find it with a few searches.

I'm looking for a reliable and thorough cleaning service that is willing to do 1BR apt that needs a good cleaning. "Clutter" isn't an issue, but the apt hasn't been cleaned since subletter left mid-Nov.

Any suggestions? Price is a variable, but willing to spend a good bit for a job well done.

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know anything about Green Dental down on Greene and Montgomery?

It looks super nice but I can't seem to find a single person talking about them...good or bad.

If not, just looking for something in that area. Seems like there are more bad dentists than good ones in this area...so def need some help if you all have some to offer.

Re: JC Downtown Business Wish List

Great thread topic and comments! Here's my wish-list:

1. Bakery -- might be an echo in here but freshly baked bread and baked goods should not be something you have to get at a super market.

2. Book store -- independents are almost nonexistent at this point, but if you were to couple a cafe and book store, i think it would do well here.

3. Ethiopian restaurant -- there used to be one but it just didn't have the legs to make it...man what I wouldn't do to have that back.

4. Quality dive bar -- also a repeat but a good dive with friendly staff, reasonable prices, and a generally kind-spirited consumer base would go so far.

Runners-Up:

- Music/Record shop
- Classic deli
