Friday 1/20/12, 8:30am RUSH HOUR.

All escalators at WTC PATH were shut off.

It took OVER 30 MINUTES to make it from thetrain platform to the PATH exit on Vesey st.

If there was a fire, there would have been HUNDREDS of fatalities.

How does PATH get away with have no emergency egree plan?

Saturday 1/15, 2PM.

Path train from 33rd to JSQ via Hoboken.

Train stops in tunnel between Christopher and Hoboken for 10-15 minutes.

No Announcement is made as to what is going on.

Conductor goes from front of train to back of train.
Conductor doesn't say anything as she passes through.

Train starts moving, BACKWARDS.
No Announcement as to what is going on.

More time passes.
Then there is finally an announcement.

"We are being held by dispatch. Thanks for your patience."

More time passes.

"This train will be travelling directly to Pavonia/Newport,
THEN to Hoboken."

"For those of you wishing to travel to Journal Square,
THERE WILL BE A TRAIN WAITING FOR YOU AT NEWPORT".

After a while the train starts moving, and finally reaches Newport.

THere is no train to JSQ waiting, or even visible when looking down the tunnel.

I cut my losses and walked home from there.

The "next train" ticker under the NBC commericals displays FALSE INFORMATION.

Grove St PATH
Saturday 8/7, 6:15am

Trains to WTC are supposed to depart 6:15am. I arrive at 6am just in case the train is early.

The tv 'ticker' scroll says "The next train to WTC will be at 6:15am".

6:15 arrives. No train. The tv ticker immediately switches to "The next train to WTC will be at 6:45am".

The train arrives at 6:20am, 5 minutes late.

The public address system said nothing about the train being late. It just kept repeating useless "pick up your trash" psa's.

The tv ticker under the NBC commercials displayed preprogramed info, that has nothing to due with when the trains actually arrive/depart.

PATHS information systems are USELESS if they don't represent TRUE INFORMATION.

Thursday 7/1, 8:40am, morning rush hour.

WTC PATH Station

Escalators out of service:
Not ONE...
Not TWO...
But THREE!

And to make matters worse,
they had 3 escalators running DOWN,
(for the 10% of people doing a reverse commute).
and only 2 running UP
(for the 90% of people doing a standard commute).

3 for 10%, 2 for 90%

PATH management is totally clueless.

Survey results will be forwarded to PATH mgmt, state comptroller, public advocate, news outlets, and others.

The idea is to shine a light on PATH management's incompetence, and hopefully get them to get their act together and actually do something to improve their service NOW.

A sampling of survey responses about PATH's numerous deficiencies...

-----------------------------------

Cars are filthy! Clean them!

Digital Timetable at stations of when trains rrive/depart!!!!!!

clean the cars more frequently - they always smell like urine

announce times for next arriving trains

stay on schedule

more elevators (Grove specifically)

Fix the A/C on all trains so I don't walk off the train like I took a shower.

RUN MORE TRAINS!!!

bike capacity in trains

Remove cars with little or no Air conditioning

fix WTC exit and entrance on vescey st

increase service in newark

Increased trains on the weekends and late night. They are always packed!

Notify people BEFORE they pay their fare of problems on the lines that could cause disruptions

PLEASE INSTALL FANS AT THE 9TH ST STOP. PLEEEEASE

Ventilation in Station. Presently harmful to ones health!

TV's at station should tell you when the next trains are arriving.

EXtend to Newark Airport

Allow for a direct train from 33rd to JSQ on weekend days (removing the need to go to Hoboken first)

Fix the frequency and capacity now!

Build New Tunnel

Clean the trains and stations

improve the quality of voiced announcements and or put them on the over amount of tv screens in the stations

Test and improve air quality.

Use the TVs for something other than ads for NBC

Direct JSQ-33 on Weekends!!!

Coordinate with NJ Transit schedules

install garbage cans in stations

Increase frequency of trains at night and weeknds period.
There is no excuse to run trains every 25 minutes that are overcrowded. Every 15 min TOPS...

anything that increases ridership capacity somethings gotta give

add in poles to new trains and handrails. there is nothing to hold onto once all seats are taken

Add More Seats In Station

Resume direct weekend service Hoboken-WTC

Freaking Trash CANS

Add a timing mechanism so we know how long we have to wait for the next train

Upgrade SIGNALS so trains can run closer together

fix the train speakers... can never understand what the conductor says

Clean the cars. The bums sleep on the seats and piss all over them selves. The seats are wet and the cars smell

provide a smoother ride

Put an indicator on platforms for when the next train is arriving in Hoboken

Add new PATH entrance at Newport

tailor service to event like the subway does. If there is a rangers or yankees mets game getting out late, plan to have servcie so those people aren't waiting forever on the platform

MOVE THE TRAINS OUT AS FAST AS THE WORLD TRADE TRAINS. JOURNAL SQUARE JUST SITS THERE WAITING AND GETTING MORE AND MORE CROWDED

-------------------------------

That's 43 complaints vs 2 responses saying "path is ok".

A ration of negative:positive that is 20:1.

Great Job PATH!

Yes, we do have a bone to pick with PATH.

So far, a vast majority of respondants do as well.
That's the whole point. To give them a voice.

If you want, YOU can make your own survey at PATHPOLL.com, on your own time.

And your results will be +/- 5 percentage points off of ours.
Big deal.

BTW...
Do you also whine about this thread being called
"PATH (pathetic attempt at transporting humans)"
?

What is your opinion of path service?

Great
Good
Above Average
Average
Below Average
Poor
Unacceptable

Can't be any fairer than that.

Would you like it better if we call it PathIsAllSunshineAndRainbows.com?

It's a survey, regardless of the URL.
