I wanted to respond to a statement made by JMCEE. You stated that being asked if you had a reservation seemed unnecessary because the place was nearly empty. Just because a place is empty at the moment you are there doesn't mean that there are not reservations coming in. Most restaurants "allow" for a 2 hour turnover time, so if they were full with reservations coming in even within an hour of your arrival they probably wouldn't seat you. I have been in the restaurant business for years and most people don't understand this, just thought I'd clear it up. With that being said, the gruff attitude you said you received certainly didn't help your experience and was wrong. I have not been to Satis yet but after reading these posts I can't wait to give it a try.

I love dogs but not only is it unsanitary to have dogs in the restaurant, it is also a huge liability risk.
If your dog bites another customer the owner is in for a whole lotta hurtin. Can you say LAWSUIT???

What's the big deal. I see gambling & prostitution way down on the list of legal priorities.
Who's it hurting???

I wasn't saying that the SPP had anything to do with the Taconic, I put the SPP in parenthesis because you (jc_downtown regular) kept correcting everyone on how the state police are not the same as the state PARK police, etc.. I brought the Taconic into the whole thing for obvious ( I hope) reasons. Sorry for the confusion.

Look, you did break the law. Stop whining about it. As for the "state PARK police", doesn't anyone remember the incident on the Toconic???? It wasn't that long ago. I'm surprised no one here has brought that up yet. Maybe the SPP were a little over dramatic in your opinion but maybe they wanted to insure no repeat of that. And again, YOU broke the law. Sorry but what idiot goes to a public park and DOESN'T look into the rules regarding alcohol. What are you 12???

Sorry to offend, when I said living in the city it's the chance we take, all I meant was basically with the narrow streets & tight parking it's more likely to happen than in the suburbs. I didn't know the extent of damage so it could've been a bad bump, scratch, big ass dent or whatever. I didn't think the car was totaled. Anyway, it still sucks.

I live right near there and would LOVE to have a convenience store with decent sandwiches !!!
As for the smokes, I would say you should definately sell them.
They are for sure gonna get people in the door from ZH. Just remember, some of them will be looped !!!
Good luck & I'll see ya there.

It sucks to get hit like that but when we live in the city it's the chance we take.
People rarely do the right thing these days, but hopefully, what goes around - comes around.

To echo what EVERYONE else has said, this truly is a sad day that we lose our dear Ox restaurant. I understand how upsetting and difficult this must be for Nicole and the entire staff so I will simply say good luck to all of you. You will be missed.
