I take offense to the Bright Street comment. And yes, I live on Bright Street.

The Van Vorst Park Association had a one on one with Jack Kelly our new Business Administrator this past Tuesday. It was open to all to come...he was very interesting and had some great ideas about what his plans are to fix some of the budget issues. Wish you all had been there....we ran a Post right here on JC list inviting all to join us!

7:30 tonite at Barrow Mansion 83 Wayne Street--you know you've got questions for him....this is a great one on one! Come on by!! Here's how his job is described on cityofjerseycity.com---

The Department of Administration manages the day-to-day operations of the City under the direction of the Business Administrator.

As defined by the New Jersey state statute known as "The Faulkner Act", the Business Administrator is the highest-ranking non-elected official in the City. Much like the Chief Operating Officer of a large corporation, the Business Administrator is the senior manager of City operations and is responsible for the effective implementation of the Mayor?s policies and directives.

Chapter 3 of the Jersey City Municipal Code specifies that "the Business Administrator shall under the direction and supervision of the Mayor":

* Assist in the preparation of the budget.
* Administer a purchasing and general service system.
* Supervise the activities of those divisions and offices within the
Department of Administration.
* Perform such other duties as the Mayor may prescribe.

Middle of the day-someone climbed over our fence (locked 8ft high) made their way to the back--through the back door--alarm going off--went downstairs took the bike and walked it out the front door. Yep. And when the JCPD showed up they asked if my bike was locked--I said "It was IN my HOUSE!" They thought it was stolen from the backyard...

Amy is a neighbor and a fantastic performer...
Alan I must respectfully disagree with you--check her out live sometime--we saw her perform both in Jersey City and at Joe's Pub--but then again musical tastes are all very different.
