Re: 7 Handicap placards in cars on 1 block?

There are so many cars on Montgomery Street between Greene and Washington streets that have placards in their window. It is not right that I have to pay for meter and these people many with NY plates have placards and go to work and not have to worry about putting money in the meter. Sometimes they dont even get tickets for not moving for the street cleaner. None of these people are handicapped they are just scamming the city and and should be ticketed.

They have a "stop work order" because they were working w/o permits. real smart, especially right across the street from the building dept.

The 4th of July is an AMERICAN HOLIDAY. If the mayor wants to save money cancel all the ethnic festivals and parades the city has. Keep the American fireworks.

Abbondanza Trattoria at 257 - 259 Grand St at Liberty Harbor has also taken almost 2 years to open. They expect to be open before the end of the summer, unless the city screws them up again.

They should give more fines out. There are so many illegal apartments being rented in Country Village. Many of the landlords are absentee landlords. Many of the 2 families are being rented as 3 families and that is one of the big problems why parking is so hard to find in Country Village. Look at Briarwood Rd. , there are so many illegal apartments they should all get fined $10,000.00.

Unfortunately this is the sign of the times. I feel much better with a police prescence and if they have to search and screen so be it. If you have nothing to hide who cares. The Civil Liberties worries about the wrong things, our safety should be the number one issue, not peoples feelings.
