Re: Whole Foods in JC?

I just want to chime in to remind people about Subia's Organics. I admit I was not all hepped up on them when they first opened but I have been going there all the time recently. Their prepared food is awesome (love the Raw Salad, Veggie Chili, and Quinua Tabouli and Hummus. While they are preparing it you can browse around and shop for some stuff to take home. It is not huge but it is "local" run (a term integral in the new food movement) and they really do have a lot of stuff in there.

Video of the Morton Organ

See above video from JC local Jennifer Weiss

But bands playing at Loewes have the benefit of Morton Organ accompaniment. More retro than a mini Moog!

JC featured in Soprano State Documentary

Jersey City residents including Steve Fulop are featured in a documentary about political corruption in NJ. Jersey City is acknowledged as a dark example of the corruption rampant across the state. A protest in front of JC city hall by fed up citizens demanding an end to criminally corrupt leadership offers a glimmer of hope. The film opens in select Clearview Cinemas Friday October 22 (the closest one is Hoboken Cinema 5). Stay up to date and help shine light on political corruption by "Liking" us on facebook The Soprano State Documentary on Facebook Headquarters 10 Theatres, Morristown NJ-Tenafly Cinema 4, Tenafly NJ-Clairidge Cinemas, Montclair NJ-Red Bank Art Cinema, Red Bank NJ-Hoboken Cinema 5, Hoboken NJ-Manhasset Cinemas, Manhasset NY-Cinema 100, White Plains NY-First & 62nd Cinemas, 400 E 62nd St. NY-Chelsea Cinemas, 260 W 23rd St. NY-American PLCinema, Flemington NJ

Balance is my favorite place for a haircut ever. Carla and company always keep it interesting and getting your haircut there in an EXPERIENCE. Enjoyable art and decor, interesting conversations, beverages, and I always love my hair cut (and I always seem to hate it when I go elsewhere).

I can see it might not be for everyone but I think this internet passive-aggressive bitterness is uncalled for.

I was using the Sony EX-1 it is video camera. I was using a timer. I have a few more from different places, this is my favorite. I am going to try from DHS once the days get a little shorter.

There is also a video from the DHS multicultural festival at Multicultural Video

Thanks for the positive feedback. The song was "Sun" by B-tribe.

I set the camera to take one frame a second and played it back at 24 frames a second.

I have been getting up early on clear days and doing time lapse video of the sunrise from our unique vantage point. This one was pretty good so I thought I would post it: http://vimeo.com/7272088

I am a teacher at Dickinson High School where I teach a digital media course. A documentary I directed will be screening at the New Jersey International Film Festival Oct. 4 and 9. It is about an amazing and under-reported phenomenon called the Rainbow Gatherings.

This is our East Coast Premiere and we are proud to do it in NJ. Our first screening was in LA where we won the \"Best Documentary\" prize.

You can watch the trailer and get more info at our website: We Love You Official Website

After-party to be announced at the screening.

Told you so. Told you so. God forbid we open a music venue or clothing store around here. But a gun shop, sure, thats a great idea.

The fact that the government is to incompetent to handle weeding out those who should not have a gun is not an argument against the 2nd Amendment but an argument for it. It is included in our bill of rights because we are a country born of violent resistance to tyranny and it is a safety valve for our democracy. It is not about the right to hunt, have target practice or even defend your home from criminals it is about the right to protect yourself from corrupted government.

And for the record I agree, some crazy person should open a music venue in Jersey City!

I am really curious about what really happened here.

Based on my own experiences with David, and what I have read here, nothing would suprise me.

I like the pho # 17 or 18 (I think) at Nha Trang.

It is the one with the little mini pork chops that you can put in it. MMMMMmmmmm.

With Viet food it is more about what I am afraid to order. I mean I know it won't hurt me but I am always afraid that "tendon" is an unlisted ingredient in something.

This is a great idea and a good step in the right direction for concerned families.

I have a schedule conflict but I am going to try and move some things around so I can attend.

I caught some of my students watching this video stream on Fox 5's site today. Warning: It is not pretty.

Fox 5 Video

I didn't have Josh in class but helped him find where he was supposed to be during my hall duty. Another one of these victims is in my 1st Block. Here comes the warm weather . . .

The violence in JC needs to be addressed. I am ready for some Clockwork Orange type measures myself.
