Re: path/subway searches

I personally don't mind the searches. I've been searched twice at Grove, though before I passed through the turnstyles.

Both times it was a bag I was carrying and it was no worse than going to the airport.

It was quick and I didn't miss my train.

Better safe than sorry in my opinion. Plus its nice seeing some police presence.

Took at look at the website and didn't find any kegs listed on there? Does anyone know if the store currently carries or is planning on carrying?

Currently get the kegs for my kegerator from HBSO right now, but you can never have too many options to get some of the smaller brews in 1/6ths.

I just got FiOS last week and they brought a Actiontec router.

A little big, but it has all the security features and it has worked well so far.

So far so good on the FiOS. The internet is noticeably quicker over and the amount of HD channels is not even close to the same league.

Does anyone have any input on what exactly the "issues" are with PSE&G? Would calls to PSE&G help?

Just an update - all the new HD channels now work down by me. The gradually came active over the past couple of days.

Can anyone here see all the new channels but not access them?

I'm getting a "Not Authorized For ordering information, press Info" on all the new HD channels only e.g., Food, HGTV, CNN

My ESPN, HBO, etc. all still work...

I rode a new car from Grove to 33rd on Monday morning. I have to say that the ride was less bumpy and also quieter. The cars are nice and bright and are not that ugly beige and orange color anymore.

Overall, I'd say it is a better experience to start your day.

Re: Question on Safety of Brunswick Btwn 2/3rd

I've been reading Jersey City list since I moved here in June and this is my first post. I bought on 2nd across from the Italian bakery between Brunswick and Colgate.

I walk home from the PATH late at night many times given my working hours (sometimes 1AM, 2AM) and have never felt especially threatened. Newark is well lit and most people down on 2nd street have motion lights. Like any city environment, I always have my "guard up" when I'm walking at night, but I doubt I would feel any different if I was closer to the water or out in Hoboken.

I would also like to point out that the area is only going to increase in foot traffic. There is a large complex being built between 1st and 3rd behind Colgate that I believe is going to have a bunch of units as well as the renovated buildings such as the one you are looking at now. Usually I say more people = more safe.

Finally, I'd have to second that I love carmines and the 2nd street bakery. Noise has never been a problem for me and I'm on the ground floor. Good luck with your search!
