You can argue with each other about racism, or other bars, or whatever you want even though it does nothing to change a thing about this bar in particular upsetting those who live near it. (Nor is it actually useful or constructive).
Indio's patrons drunkenly drive back and forth to the location and scream at each other outside. To our knowledge, there has been at least one shooting recently, as well as stabbings and other attempted harmful acts. This disrupts the overall safety and welfare of actual residents in the neighborhood (read: people who actually live in the direct area of this bar). If you think otherwise - you likely don't live near it.

This happened to us last week too. We're pretty close to Hamilton Park so it could be the same driver. My husband specifically stayed home all day to wait for our package to arrive because it was very important. He saw the truck drive right past our place and not stop. When he called Fed-Ex to ask what happened they told him that the driver had just notified them that our street was closed and he was unable to deliver our package. This was obviously an outright lie and my husband reported it. We were furious. Please report your incident as well.

I live on 2nd & Brunswick and I have only encountered the kinds of issues that any city dweller would expect. The bars mentioned are not directly on that stretch of block that you're asking about so it will not be too noisy (Lamp Post is around the corner and the others are a couple blocks away). If you're living directly across or next to them that is a different story, but you have that risk moving very close to a bar in any city. As a woman I feel comfortable walking around at night. Just remember, its still urban, so you always have to be on guard (the suburbs exist if you're looking to get away from that). But I agree with what was said above, its just as safe as any of the nicer areas in Brooklyn.
