Smart start is opening a downtown jc location. My son is starting there in 2 weeks. right on grove and newark.

My daughter has been at smart start since 2 1/2 (she is now 6 years old and in kindergarten) and we love it. So excited to be able to send our 10month old now.

You should check it out!
Good luck :)

Ginos on Central in the heights.
Its so good! I've been on the hunt for a good pizza delivery spot in the heights for a while now and this is the best we've tried by far. Mama Leonas doesnt compare.
Try the pan pizza with fresh tomatoes and mozzerella. Yum!!

Hi All -
Can anyone tell me what the neighborhood is like? I've heard not so good reports on the lincoln park area as a whole but was just curious if anyone had anymore info??
We are going to look at an condo in this building next week. Amazing condo for very cheap so it leads me to wonder -
is it the neighborhood?

Any info appreciated.
Thanks!!

Does anyone know of any rooms or halls for rent in the Heights?
It would be for my 2 year olds birthday party.
Doesn't need to be that big... Maybe a local church or fire company?

We're looking to do this on Oct. 30th... Pretty last minute but thought we'd try...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for all the info!

Does anyone happen to have any info on No. 25 - Nicolas Copernicus? We just looked at a place we really liked in that zone but haven't heard anything about this school....

Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I actually walk by that school everyday.
We live in Western Slope now although not sure if this will be the neighborhood we purchase in.

Do you know how enrollment works? Say - do we need to live in Western slope to attend this school? (Or any school for that matter)

I'm so unfamiliar w/ this system. Where I'm from in PA if you live in the neighborhood - there's one school and that is where you go. I'm assuming that's not how it works up here??

Thanks again!!

JC Elementary Schools

We're looking at buying a place in the heights section of JC. Does anyone have any info on elementary schools in the area? (Public schools only)

All the great schools ratings are terrible (if the school is even rated) It makes me nervous to consider purchasing a property in the area as my daughter will be school age in a few years.

Any insight on which schools are the best, which ones to avoid, etc would be GREATLY appreciated.

Also - if there are any other outstanding elementary schools in other parts of jersey city - I'd be interested in that as well.

We've been renting in the heights for about 5 years now and it seems to us the quietest and safe area of the city to raise a family but we are far from versed on all sections of JC as a whole...

Thanks !

Re: Day Care - JC Heights

Hi - I've recenly enrolled my daughter in Day care at Baby Einstien. She starts in feb. when she will be 3 months old. I hate hate hate to leave her but unfortunately can not afford otherwise. When we were looking for a daycare we loved Baby einstien once we visited. They seemed very clean, Michelle - the owner was extremely nice, the babies all looked happy and content in the infant room (we visited around 12pm) and we loved that she will be on a schedule all day - they even have baby yoga and classes for the infants.

I've been following this post for awhile and I see lots of reviews on the other daycares in the area but does anyone have any reviews or notes on Baby Einstien? I'd love to hear some feedback from other parents who have actually used them.

Thanks in advance!!
