The summer is gone and so as Farmer's Market...

I am tired of buying sorry produce from Shoprites.

Are there any "Farm Stand" or some sort of markets run by local farmers near here?
I drive up to an hour to get fresh vegitables and fruits. Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

Shoprite needs a double dose of a bulldozer with a wrecking ball attached! I LOATHE that place and their unfriendly staff. The A&P near the soon to be closing Linen's and Things is much better with their produce, but if I feel like getting SUPER fresh produce, I travel to Edgewater to go to either Whole Foods or Mitsuwa. IMHO, Mitsuwa has the freshest produce for the price. It's fresher than Whole Foods at half the cost. They also have exotic fruits and vegetables from Japan. Check it out!

I sure don't like their employees! The a#*hole that came for the routine installation of my internet asked if he could use my bathroom. I was willing to let him use the bathroom, and after my cable was installed, I tipped him $10. It was only later when my wife went into the bathroom and said "WHAT HAPPENED IN HERE!?" did I realize what kind of people this company hires. The douchebag had pissed all over the place! All over the seat, and all over the floor! I TIPPED HIM $10 SO I COULD CLEAN UP HIS MASTERPIECE! Needless to say, I was livid. No good deed ever goes unpunished!

I want to hear everyone's opinion on their favorite dry cleaner, and which ones to avoid.

Fishmonger, you got some issues man. I am not here for any particular agenga. I'm a resident of JC and since I use the Path a A LOT, and I have some serious gripes with it, thats what I tend to write about.

What I really get annoyed at is when poeple complain complain complain on these forum websites and they expect someone to listen and fix it. That is NOT going to happen. If poeple want somehting fixed, they need to comaplain tot he approrpriate place. That is why I try to steer people to the right place to submit a complaint.

Now regarding Fixmypath, I do realize it is BS site, but I posted about it because I thought at the time it was a good way for people to be able to submit feedback. That said, I also always include the Path customer service email for people to write complaints directly to the PA.

So I'm so sorry I ONLY post about Path issues here. The Path is a major part JC and one of it's biggest problems. If you want to post about other subjects then go right ahead. Last time I heard this was a still a Democracy, at least for the next 2 days.

Hey Grovester,

I thought the exact same thing. Funny how the only posts robocub seems to ever care about are ones pertaining to complaints about the path train. Then he hypocritically says "I hate seeing people complain about the path train! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ALREADY! BLAH BLAH BLAH.." When is the webmaster going to figure out that this guy is only on here because he has an agenda to fill! This is SPAM. Anyone who participates for the fixmypath.org "petition" is being suckered. Someone has an agenda to create a second entrance at the Newport/Pavonia path station, and they're willing to mislead you on this website and use your name and information for their personal gain. This is NOT about fixing the path! This is about exploiting people!

I may have my issues Robocub, but regardless of whatever issues you believe I may have, you still should have been up front about the fixmypath website. What I don't like is being purposely mislead to give out my personal information for someone else's agenda to fix issues at Newport path. If you had communicated that the website focused on the Newport station instead of the whole entirety of the PATH system, I would never have signed up for this petition. I would have only emailed them directly. If you realize the fixmypath.com is a BS site, STOP PROMOTING IT! Oh, and by the way, don't take my inventory. Figure out your own problems before you go judging others, otherwise you end up looking like a complete a!*hole. You're free to have the last word.

Using the slang term "dissed" is not helping the situation. It started as an inner city term and is now part of today's vernacular. There are other terms being used as if it were the norm. Such as "my bad, like", and more. I wish newspapers would stop printing this murder of the English language.

It makes me happy that someone else feels the same way I do! Thanks heights! You did good.

So these trains won't actually accommodate the ever increasing amount of JC residents after all. They're the same size train as the current ones! The NJ transit authority is going to have a serious mess on their hands in the next few years. They need to start running the PATH train on a more serious schedule! None of this 30 minute waiting on nights and weekends crap! Rush hour schedule all the time! That's my vote.

Thank God. Get these low-lifers off off our streets! I was over near Wonder Bagel the other day, and you see these losers hanging out near Wayne St. selling drugs. It's a shame too. That area would really be nice once the thugs are locked up.

I used to live up in Rochester, NY. I liked Popeye's chicken so much that I had to drive to the worst part of the inner-city to get it. This "incident" used to happen to me every time I went there! I made the mistake of having my window down once in the summer, and the guy actually stuck half his body into the driver side window to ask me if I had any change (as he's eyeing all the loose change in my ashtray). Needless to say, I gave him whatever change I had in the ashtray just to get him the hell out of my car. As if a twenty piece of chicken wasn't already overpriced!

Hey Mary,

No offense, but unless you're an addict yourself or have a close friend or relative that's a drug addict, I wouldn't talk about legalizing drugs. It's an backwards idea. You think our country's spending a lot of money locking people up for small drug offenses right? Imagine what's going to happen when heroin is legalized and everyone becomes a dope head. I don't think our economy can benefit too much from having 24 hour state run clinics and our tax payer dollars being wasted on shooting up your friendly neighborhood dope head with Narcan everytime they overindulge in their little habit. And how the hell does making drugs legal put a screeching halt to overdoses and the spread of disease? If you knew anything about what you were talking about, heroin addicts don't care about ANYTHING but getting high. You think they care about sharing needles? And am I to understand that because we would have government regulated "pure" heroin, that would somehow miraculously stop addicts from overcompensating their next hit when they bang that crap up their arm? Stop deluding yourself.

Too bad they don't rip out that Shoprite on Marin Ave. That place is awful! The quality of their produce is laughable, and their organic/wholesome foods section is pathetic. I avoid this place like the plague! Truth is, nobody knows if the rumors have any validity to them. I would take a Wegman's over a Whole Foods any day of the week though!
