If you are speaking of Rob "Dog" Rizzo, who happens to be bald headed and walks several huskies, along with some other dogs in the Hamilton park area, I know him well enough to know that he would never walk a dog off leash, ever. I see him all throughout the day, every day for well over a year and I know he would never have anything to do with the ridiculous stunt that was pulled by this other individual. I myself am a dogwalker and would without hesitation have him care for my dog if necessary. I have seen personally how attentive and caring he is with his dogs... Definitely NOT Rob "Dog" Rizzo. Nope...

I'm quite puzzled and disgusted with all of the senseless crimes going on jersey city. I haven't checked statistically but it seems to me that "crime incidents" here are on the rise.
And why would someone enable and encourage another individual on said crime then proceed to record it? That's some type of sick "glorification" ![]()

I haven't had my bike stolen but I did have my front tire slashed just yesterday. The slash had to be at least 2 feet long. It happened on Steuben St right near the Path station, however my observation has been that on Newark ave right by Jersey Ave for at least 10 months someone has been selling used bikes for really cheap.
I've noticed that at times it's 1 bike sometimes 3 or 4 on 2 different corners locked with a makeshift sign with a price and phone number. What I find odd is that I'm always seeing different bikes and some have been covered or disguised with reflective tape. I can't help but wonder if these bikes are stolen. I see too many differentt ones all the time except for lately. I'm guessing that it's due to all of the sidewalk construction and police presence in that area.

There's a new "Taste Of India" At Newport Centre in the food court. I would never have expected the food to be better than some of the local indian restaurants in Jersey City.
I've gone at least 4 times in the last 3 weeks. The food is very fresh, delicious and oh so spicy. I love the convenience and it's very affordable plus they have a great staff there. I've noticed that the the sides vary on a daily basis, I love that. Will keep going, and going and going... ![]()

On Friday, May 15, 2009, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management will be testing emergency alert sirens throughout the county. We have several locations in Jersey City. Residents may hear a loud siren at one or more times during the day, and should not be alarmed. This is NOT an emergency, but only a test.
For more information, please visit the city website at http://www.jerseycitynj.gov.

How does that make him stupid?

I use my bike to work for several reasons. It saves on gas, it's good for the environment, it keeps me in shape and I don't have to worry about parking, plus I just love riding my bike all over the place even when I'm not working.
In the last 2 months while working downtown, I have discovered that the gears have been altered, my seat has either been lowered and a couple of days it was apparently raised higher than normal or turned into a crooked position. My bike's pretty short as I am not the tallest of people but I had some trouble getting on it. I can't figure out if someone's playing a practical joke or if there's some kind of attempt to steal my seat? I was just wondering if any other bike riders here have experienced this. It seems to happen close to the grove street area. It's getting pretty annoying.

This is unbelievable! I would've expected that some serious action would've been taken long before now, some sort of investigation or further charges filed yet he remains free, employed, doing the same probably lousy job, clearly incompetent and negligent.
I don't understand why mediocrity is being tolerated? I'm sure there are plenty of qualified, better candidates to fill his position who'd perform that job dutifuly, with all the unemployed Americans who'd love to be working right about now. What happened to standards and bare minimums? This is really upsetting... ![]()

I agree with fat-ass-bike as there are enough pedestrians, bike-riders (myself included), etc, who could use another tunnel. I'm not sure it will happen. I would love to commute into the city with my bike but I feel intimidated because the path for example isn't exactly made to accomodate bike-riders. I don't want to have to buy yet another bike just so that I can commute into the city. Carrying my bikes up and down the stairs could be a disaster as I am a pretty short gal. I already own 2. The ferry sounds like a great idea but it is pricier, plus the idea of the ferry being crowded with commuters is a big turn-off for me... ![]()

On Monday night my cousin who has been staying with us since she came back from living in Europe for 2 years went to a premiere in NYC.
She came back on the Path and decided to wait for the bus rather than take a cab home. (not what I would've done however) It was 3am and very cold. She saw a police squad car go by almost immediately and apparently the officer went around the block and returned. He asked her what she was doing, address, etc. Officer Joe called in that he'd be dropping female at said address and asked her to get in. He did just that. Obviously she was very grateful and so were we... ![]()
