Just can't stay away

Ok so this time we won't be in the park....but we had so much fun and had such incredibly positive feedback that next summer we want to do a series of dances in the park~! In order to do so, we need to raise a bit of money for the events--

So....HELP US keep the boogie alive in VVP next summer! Join us INDOORS at the Barrow Mansion on Friday December 12th from 8 to Midnight for our Putting on the Ritz: A Speakeasy Soiree....that's right...get your Gatsby on with us. We start the evening with the sultry sounds of Vespertine from 8-9 then we head into the ballroom where we will boogie all night to the tunes of DJ Dancing Tony. $25 gets you into our speakeasy where we will provide the entertainment and light snacks!! Cash bar--beer, wine & a special champagne cocktail....and the best dressed man and woman will take home a special prize!! We are so excited!

Take a break from the ugly christmas sweater parties and holiday shopping at the Newport Mall and go back in time with us...it will be a night to remember!!

For more information and to purchase your tickets in advance go to: Eventbrite.com Putting on the Ritz: A Speakeasy Soiree

Just an FYI on this...

The architect, owner and attorney representing the owner came to our last VVPA meeting. We had an open discussion with them . Some in attendance were in favor of removing the lions and others were vehemently against it.

They told us that they will most likely be presenting at the next Historic Preservation Commission meeting in December. If you are unable to attend please send the VVPA an email with your thoughts on this and we will do our best to convey the neighbors pros and cons.

And if you would like to join us at future meetings or receive our newsletters you can do so by signing up at vvpa.org

The Merchant has been a friend to the community for 12 years. Any time the VVPA asked for a food donation for an event, sponsorship for Films in the Park or a gift certificate they were always there for us. We enjoyed many a late night snack after Council meetings, trivia nights, St Pattys Days...Not only will their favorite munchies be missed but more so will be Anne Marie & Dave and their big hearts. Thanks Merchant, we will miss you.

Hi

The architect presented for the developer last evening. It's a 4 story 4 unit residential building, ADA accessible with an elevator and 4 separate terraces on the back. Exterior & Facade is brick and historical in design keeping with the Historic buildings on the street. There was no opposition to it. The developer will be sending us a set of drawings which we will post on our website...www.vvpa.org in the coming days.

It's not just the lady in the article. It's over 400 and counting neighbors and residents who are not necessarily opposed to Micro Apartments but to the allowances in this Redevelopment plan for a small lot on a quiet street with infrastructure & parking issues already.
