Re: Gay In Journal Square?

I've lived in the Lincoln Park area for 7 years and I've never had a problem.
Of the 10 apartments on my floor half of them are occupied by gays and I would say 25% of the people living in my building are gay.
I always tell my partner that the area around Lincoln Park is primed to become a gaybhorhood. I'd open a gay bar if I could.
I've never felt unsafe because I was gay, if you are looking for trouble in JC you will find it. The only problems I?ve had are with the cab drivers who will kick you out of their cab if you "act gay", so I never take cabs in JC.
Check out the Lincoln Park area, tons of huge prewar apartments with great light and no real parking or crime issues.

I only go to the grocery stores in Jersey City for an emergency. I get frustrated and angry just being in their parking lots. I rather drive out of my way to Stop and Shop in Bayonne or Wegman's in Woodbridge, they're cheaper, the service and products are better, and the people are a little nicer. Wegman's is just great in general and is a company that actually treats its employees and customers right. I try to avoid any shopping in JC it's not worth the hassle.

In reality it'll cost us $20 million because of all the kickbacks and cost overruns. Another publically financed trough for the politician and contractor pigs to feed from.

JC Pepper Spray Laws

Does anyone know if/when it is allowable to use pepper spray in JC? I live near Lincoln Park and would like to go running without fear. There has been a rash of shootings, muggings, holdups, dog maulings and the such. Can I use it to threaten people? Where/when can I not use it? I would think the Path and Bus are unacceptable, although those are probably the times I want to use it most, hahaha but I guess you can't use it if people annoy you. Anyhoo, if anyone has any clue as to when it is acceptable please respond. Also is it really a deterrent? I want to make sure I won't be charged for using it if I percieve that I am being threatened?

Cheers!

They probably couldn't get their permits from JC's Department of Buildings.
