Mr. Rogers, in post number 11 which you tell us that "Manzo's only shot is to make a deal with Fulop" then you ask "Anyone here (on the forum) think Fulop should back Manzo?

Now, in your most recent post you now complain that people are answering your "survey", perhaps not the answers you would have preferred.

In any event, I think Louis Manzo is an interesting and real candidate worth taking a look at. And, I intend to consider all candidates with the exception of Healy.

Samual as i just posted to your freind Omar its hard to follow along if i have to go back and reread my old post.Since its quite clear this thread will be here till may you guys may want to figure out how to quote.

Now to answer your statement i didn't dislike any of the answers. You just seem a bit to pushy on the Manzo front.

Its funny both Manzo and Schundler have both been Quoted as seeking Fulops support can you tell me how Manzo will do this.

Mr. Rogers, as to your post above responding to Samual whom you call my friend. I read it five times, I don't know what it means. However, I will work on getting the quote thing down as you say. Hopefully my friend "Samual" will also get it down Tom.

Mr. Rogers, I think you missed my point. My post wasn't about Steve Fulop who I think has been a good councilman. Nor was I writing about Louis Manzo who I think was a good Assemblyman.

I was asking a legitimate question. Tqwert2 had written in his post that Schundler was the good Goverment candidate. I dispute that assertion, Schundler has a $180,000.00 debt from his previous campaign. It has been written that the firms and interests that had loaned him the money are willing to forgive this debt. I raise a legitimate question when I as why these debts would be excused? Why would anyone forgive a $180,000.00 in debt? Could it be that if Schundler were to become Mayor he would steer city contracts to those firms and interests he owed money to? If that were to be the case would that not make Bret Schundler (the alleged good goverment candidate) the quintessential "PAY TO PLAY CANDIDATE".

Again, if you review the post I wrote in response to Tqwert2 you will see that it was entirely about Bret Schundler. I know you like Steve Fulop, so do I. However I was not writing about Steve Fulop or Lou Manzo, I was writing about Bret Schundler.

Calm down big guy. If you have a passion for Schundler thats great. However, you need to give him some money to run because he has none. In addition, if he does obtain some money to run wouldn't it be proper to pay off the $180,000.00 he still owes from his prior Gubernatorial campaign. I have read that the special interests and firms that had loaned his previous Gubernatorial campaign the $ 180,000.00 don't even want their money back. HMMMMM, wonder why, does "pay to play" ring a bell. Sorry, just thinking out loud. Oh, by the way has Schundler found anyone that will run for council with him?

Mr. Rogers, you wrote:
Lou Manzo would have made a better State Senator than Sandy Cunningham, his wonkishness is best suited to trenton. Those same attributes may not be best displayed as Mayor.

1) Yes I agree, Louis Manzo would have made a better State Senator than Sandy Cunningham, and Louis Manzo would certainly make a better Mayor than Jerry Healy.

2) I disagree with you that the attributes Louis Manzo displayed in the Assembly would not be translate into a succesfull Mayoral term.

Furthermore, Louis Manzo seems to have a work ethic and a commitment to Jersey City, and HE IS SOBER. Jerry Healy has been an embarrasment to our city and hopefully he will be removed by the voters.

I have also read up on Manzo, and what I have learned so far is:

1) He is a hard worker
2) He does not drink to inebriation

These are two attributes that our present Mayor cannot make claim to.

Now thats what I like to see Ms SalonontheHill, your well thought out response to the commentary by Mr. Engdahl. So whats your point? Mr. Spitzer the former Governor of New York should get a walk? Its a vast right wing conspiracy by rich Republicans against against a multimillionaire Governor?

By the way when these politicians Republican or Democrat break the law or are involved in sexual situations that are unethical and inappropriate (such as to put them into the realm of sexual harrassment land) as Foley, they should resign or be removed. I notice in your post you neglected to mention President Clinton and his clearly inappropriate and unethical relationship with Ms Lewinski. Why?

As to Mr. Guiliani who I'm not very fond of, one can hardly charachterize his infidelity from his wife as a sexual scandal (as you have) that should have resulted in sanctions on him from whatever source you feel they should have come.

Super fury I stand corrected. But whats your point? The substance of my post was that the writer Mr. Engdahl neglected to mention Congressman Franks. The structure of my argument still remains in tact. Your post is intendended to make you look smart. So kudos to you. However, Bright moment in her/his opening paragraph wrote that he/she believed Mr. Engdahl to be credible. My point is that I don't believe Mr. Engdahl to be credible.

Bright moment is presenting Mr. Engdahl as a writer whose credentials are impeccible. however, I am of the opinion that Mr. Engdahl's political leanings are quite apparent by my review of the article that Bright Moment has posted.

In Mr. Engdalh's article he cites Republican congressman Foley's sexual scandal, yet he does not reference democratic Congressman Barney Franks ethical issues with male pages employed in the House.

Mr. Engdahl speaks of Rudolph Guiliani's infidelity in his marriage (which is not a crime nor unethical as to his elected position, although it would be morally wrong on a personal level). The Author fails to mention Democratic President Bill Clintons inappropriate sexual relations with Monica Lewinski WHO WAS AN INTERN EMPLOYED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERMENT. Ms. Lewinski was only slightly older than the Presidents own daughter, additionally how appropriate is it for a Boss (President Clinton) to have a sexual relationship with a subordinate (Ms. Lewinski), from a standpoint of Sexual harrassment laws?

I am definitlely not a fan of Mr. Guiliani and I really don't know to much about Congressman Foley, but I can tell you this: This Author with such impeccible credentials (which is described in detail by Bright Moment) clearly has a political agenda.

As for Mr. Engdahl's assertion that Mr. Spitzer has not presently been charged with a crime, I believe the statute of limitations is five years. If Mr. Spitzer did not wish to resign he should have stayed on as Governor. Please do not present him as a victim

Sandy Cunningham would make a great mayor. The job is a perfect fit for her, it comes with a police driver in which case she will not have to worry about being arrested for drunk driving again. But and a big But, stay out of Bradley beach because the Police driver didn't keep the current Mayor from being arrested.

Welcome back Bret Schundler. Is your corpooration counsel going to be Sean Connolly? He was a great choice last time walking around with his silly looking derby and permanent beer puss. Better yet maybe Healy can give him that job, he would fit in well with this administration too. Seriously though If Schundler comes back Fulop is going to hand him his head in a basket! (politically speaking).

Numbers can be manipulated in many ways as they relate to crime statistics. The bottom line is, do you feel safe in Jersey City? Is there a perception of safety in Jersey City? Ask yourself these questions and if you perceive yourself to be safe while tooling around Jersey City, than the Healy administration has done their job. If you don't feel safe please do not rely on crime statistic numbers that are being distributed to us by bureaucrats who sit in offices. Use your head and take precautions, something you should do whether you live in a "Safe" City or a War Zone".

I personally am suspicous of the Healy crime stats and have read about some particularly blatent and henious crimes lately.

Can I ask why Mayor Healy or Councilman Gaughan didn't attend the polar bear plunge?

1) Wouldn't the both of these guys be able to stay in the water for 10 minutes or so with the amount of alcohol that runs through their circulatory system?

2) There was an immense amount of drinking available in the bars of Seaside after the plunge for those having a proclivity for such behavior. I think they might have enjoyed these after parties! Then it would only be 2 more weeks for these guys to wait for the St. Patrick day parties!

Not fat and sloppy enough? I can't believe that the double dipping councilman would actually stay at his desk long enough to turn the "tray". How could they get their drinking done if the stayed in the office that long?
