I guess you're right. But the combination of the public act, being around children and then also having a penis piercing AND that it might be infected. how do you think the hospital personnel felt evaluating this guy? gross.

I'm not sure how this event can be more disgusting.

So did anyone go to any of the protests?

If you just keep in mind that this group is an extreme example of dysfunctional family as a result of mental illness, then it's much easier to ignore them. Meaning: it's easy to ignore an obviously crazy person wearing a tin foil hat who tells us that the aliens are landing at McDonalds'. It's harder to ignore this group (WBC) because the content of what they say is so vile. But the two messages are the same: based in fiction and not true. And I don't think the WBC is gathering more followers or is gaining momentum in building a message of hate. It's simply a crazy disgusting family (think of those poor kids they drag around to protests).

i'm sorry i disagree iwth you. it's NOT going that way. if food is still on the table, clothes on people's backs with heat and electricity then this is NOT a depression. a recession - yes. it's a shame that people have seen their "riches" evaporate. when i see these same people on a bread line then maybe we can talk.

it's like my little cousin who is complaining that he's only getting 4 presents for xmas instead off the normal 20! yes that's a huge reduction. but he's still getting 1 present. actually he's getting 4x that. sounds better than most of the world to me

I have not read through this entire thread but I have a real problem with the title of it. please don't insult those people who survived a REAL depression. this is NOT a depression - not even close. my grandparents had no shoes, no food and had to drop out of GRADE school just to help support the family. when I see large numbers of american children in these same circumstances today - then I will be ok with you calling it a "depression"

I keep seeing medium-large groups of kids all wearing white t-shirts. What's up with that? Is there some kind of sports league or something that requires this? It seems strange, especially since school is out.

That's exactly what PCUE is supporting and facilitating. Believe me, the demonstrations are robust! The media attention is critical, but I think equally important is the fact that it is (mostly) the parents and grandparents of the affected children who are speaking up. Grassroots at its best, man. They have absolutely BEEN beating down the doors to get attention. It's starting to pay off -- that's why you're starting to hear about it.

Really, hook up with PCUE's website. They're impressive.

that's great! I didn't know about this. Thanks for letting me know. I am not a parent yet. otherwise if my kids were in school here, i'd want to have the superintendant's head! can single people join or is it just limited to parents?
