Re: Barrow Street Bar

um to those complaining -- if you don't like a bar in your neighborhood, don't live in an urban area. you live next to one of the most amazing cities in the world and all you find to complain about is having a (noisy) bar turn into a coffee shop because it doesn't suit your idea of how a residential neighborhood should be? give me a break... all of downtown is residential... but its also an incredibly urban area; one that you need to share with things and people you wouldn't necessarily interact with otherwise.

My advice to you -- newport. you can live in a residential gated community and never have to interact with the apparent low life who frequent such establishments.

I gotta say... I really like this place! The owner (s) are incredibly friendly and welcoming, they're accomodating, and so far, the food is pretty darn good. Also, I'm thrilled to have a place so close to my apartment that I can just pop in and get something quickly that isn't a deli or completely expensive. A welcome addition to the neighborhood and I'm glad to hear so many people (aside from a few) enjoy it as well.

I went tonight for the first time...first of all, the place looks amazing, especially from its former decor, its pretty unbelievable how great of a job they did transforming it into the Hamilton Inn. Menu looks great too and love the affordable wine list. Food also not half bad. Sat at the bar and thats where I'm going to subtract points. Service was... lacking. Everything took just a little too long. Unapologetically so. I don't think I've been to a bar with this kind of service in Jersey City or elsewhere... ever. From greeting us and taking our drinks to clearing our plates and dropping the check. I work in a bar so I know how it is, and they had enough people on the floor that it shouldn't be this unorganized and inattentive. I'm going to go ahead and say that because they're new, I understand they are working out a few bugs with service, etc. and getting used to a new place. However, I hope going forward the Hamilton Inn can ensure the bartenders focus on each person as their guest, and give better service. Then I will definitely be back. All in all, good experience -- I just look forward to receiving better service next time I'm sitting at the bar. Glad to have a new place to go in the neighborhood.

Hamilton Park veterinarian reccomendations?

Hi!

I'm new to Jersey City, just moved to Hamilton Park. I'm wondering if anyone has any reccs for a good vet in the area for my two cats?

I don't have a car, so something walkable would be great, if possible.

Thanks!
