Hellooooooo.

Time to form a neighborhood watch. You can get the specifics on how to do it off the net. Exchange contact info and arrange it so that if someone sees something ..someone says something.

Trim branches that block street lighting & bushes that could provide hiding places for assailants. Distribute whistles to NW members. Noise scares away intruders. Of course gunpowder is a much more permanent solution. Shoot 'em if ya got 'em.

It'll be nationwide. People will be losing their homes left & right. Many will simultaneously declare bankruptcy, leaving the whole national economy teetering on the verge of failure. Home prices will drop 30 to 70 % depending on location. People will be blowing their brains out.

I'll be selling bullets.

I'm no Fat-Ass but I'd say OF COURSE you can and SHOULD replace it with a better lock. And if you have the mullah you should also ensure that the door itself AND doorframe are made of STEEL, not wood because the best lock can be easily crow-barred from a wood-frame door.

The windows should be high-impact resistant plexiglass especially at all streetlevel windows. I recently was walking thru the West Village and saw the firemen trying to break into a window that had such glass. THEY COULDN'T SMASH IN EVEN WITH A SLEDGEHAMMER. They finally gained entry by prying out the window frame. Took 'em 20 minutes (it wasn't a fire, just that the alarm went off). This particular building however had this type of glass on EVERY one of the 6 story structures windows because it stores valuables.

You probably won't need to do ALL your own windows, just the most dangerous ones.

"There are dollar buses that run all the time up Newark Avenue from Downtown -- you might want to think about something like this around Hamilton Park -- good luck!

"You're trying to tell us you're gay? Well just say so, we're not homophobes around here."

This may come as a shock to you, SlowEddie, but daily bathing does NOT constitute gayness. To think of all the years you've wasted avoiding soap & water ..all for naught!.

Anyway, I already knew people on the JCList are mostly nice and not homophobic. After all, even retards like you are nicely treated.

Wanted: Furnished Studio in JC July-August

I'm looking for a furnished studio in JC with EZ PATH access and near the Newark Ave courthouse for a month long stay from July to August (dates are flexible). I'm looking to pay $1500-2000 and even a little more for the right apt.

I'm trying out a new job working for the NJ/NY courts. I'll be working mostly at the Newark courthouse but will also need EZ access to downtown NYC courts.

Single 40 year old male, non-smoker, non-drinker. Extremely clean and responsible. IMPECABLE references.

(yeah, I know .."post it on Craigslist". Well, I already did! )

Exactly!.

There's a nationwide RE crash coming very soon to a city near you.

Why?. Because (mostly Californican) mortgage lenders relaxed their lending standards more than an intoxicated hooker at a gangbang. And now those same lenders are going belly-up faster than you can say, "foreclosure", while people who had no business buying a house find themselves suddenly in Shittesville. Read on;

" Deborah Beatty recognizes that she and her family could lose their home in Jersey City, N.J., across the Hudson River from New York, because they can?t afford the mortgage. The newly constructed three-level home offers a view of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty from Beatty?s master bedroom window.

?I?m going to miss that,? said Beatty, 53, who collects disability payments and does not work. ?When I come in, I like to see the lady (the statue), especially when it?s a beautiful clear night.?

Her 29-year-old daughter, a graduate student with an annual income of less than $20,000, qualified for a mortgage of $600,000 with no money down, split into two different loans at 8.75 percent and 12.5 percent interest rates.

With income from tenants, which didn?t come right away, Beatty?s daughter thought she could afford monthly payments of nearly $5,000.

But she hasn?t made a mortgage payment in more than three months, and she?s receiving letters threatening foreclosure."///

"I love Little India, as far as I am concerned it's the jewel in JC's crown"

Is this the area where the bongo guys hang out? Because if it is then that 'jewel' might just turn out to be cheap zirconia.
