One of the EMT's lives in the set back house where it pulls up and he does indeed hang out there, since no one is ever in the ambulance half the time. I used to live around there and see it alot.

Good Idea...So I should tackle a guy suffering from possible schizophrenia holding a possible weapon for scratching the side of a building. I would either end up in jail for tackling someone who is not threatening anyone or get myself cut up or worse. I have never seen him scratching a car, which I would say something if I saw that or call the cops. If he does have schizophrenia and refuses to take his meds, then there is little you can do to prevent him from acting out.

I saw him the other day scratching the side of a building on the corner of Jersey and Bright. I have a feeling it might be some type of anxiety relief or something, since he just does it and then walks on.

All the information is on their site. http://www.christhospital.org/son_admissions.cfm

Your credits should transfer, but just talk to admissions.

Christ Hospital has a 2 year ADN RN program. Plenty of people in the program have a BA or other degree already and are changing careers as well (myself included). The school has also just received "School of Excellence" recognition.

I think the Bright/York area could do well since you have a decent amount of foot traffic with people coming from the school, Pathmark, Van Vorst Park, Liberty State Park, and the hospital. I know several people at JC Medical that wish there were more places in the area.
Legal Grounds is on a very quiet section of Grand and has horrible hours. Every time I head that way the place seems to be closed. I am sure a location on Newark would do just as well, but of course I am partial to the Bright/York area

I know my wife and I would be there in a second, but of course we live on Bright. The area gets plenty of foot traffic and downtown could definitely use a tea house.

Sorry about your car and the whole situation. I live right there and cant believe this happened as well. I thought it was a garbage truck hitting something behind us on York and didn't think to check out my front window.

I cant believe the police will not review the tapes, since I am sure they would for other issues that don't hurt anyone, such as drug deals in front the school or graffiti on the school. A person driving that recklessly and driving off after that bad of a hit is just as dangerous as someone shooting a gun off randomly walking down the road.

It costed our association around $1500 the first time when United Water requested it and another $600-$800 two months later for a different version that can be tested by "The City of Jersey City". It seems the city just wants there share of the yearly inspections fees as well

The whole thing was completed in about 4 hours or so.

My wife and I waited over an hour for a train from Christopher St. last night and unfortunately the train that came was the 3:30 am train you speak of. People were were fighting, screaming, and shoving the entire ride. I have never seen it as bad as that in my life. People were forced to ride in between the cars and hold on to what they could in order to not get crushed to death. I would not have been surprised if anyone was seriously hurt after that ride.

Our building has already gone through this and it was a pain in the ass. Paid a considerable sum to get it installed and will now have to pay about $150 a year to be inspected.

That sucks to hear that happened, especially since that area is usually not bad. I am assuming you have a Jeep or soft top convertible, since you said they sliced your rear window to get in. Unfortunately, they are always the first target for thieves and a bad option for urban areas or for storing anything in. A person in my building has had his Jeep window sliced and broken into several times, but luckily he never keeps anything in it.

I have lived on Bright for about a year and a half and love the area. My units bottom level is basement/garden level and experienced only one incidence of flooding. I do have to say it was only during the record breaking 9 inches we had in April last year. We probably would have been fine if the two building sump pumps were in place at the time. Our Federal Flood Hazard paper work shows that we are not in a special flood hazard area, but a lot of downtown is. Just make sure you invest in a good sump pump or check to see if your building has one.

Just keep it covered and give enough space for people to walk or push a stroller and you should be fine. I have never seen the Parking Authority ticketing a bike here.

I have to agree with Mr Bunny regarding "Power conditioners". A while back I used to work in the Video department of Best Buy and knew then that the Power Conditoners were a joke. We had numerous complaints from people saying that it was degrading their signal and I have seen this first hand. Just use the gift cards to get some of the other things you need and invest in a quality surge protector.

You will most likely have to order a new box. Just make sure you ask for the HDMI cable box from Comcast. They tend to give the older (RGB)component boxes, unless you specify for the HDMI box. You will most likely need to get your own HDMI cable, since they usually just provide component. Other then that, the boxes are pretty good, I just wish HD was free like it is on Cablevision.

I live on that block and really like it. I have never noticed any of these so called gangs of wandering teenagers, but more of loud middle and elementary school kids running around due to the school. The Old Colony shopping area is fine and is nice to have if you need to run out and get something. Taxi costs exactly $4 from the Grove Path or an easy 10 minute walk. Lastly, the best part is that it has to be the easiest area to find parking downtown. I have never had to park outside the view of my bedroom window. My only beef with the area is lack of garbage cans on the street, but you can say that for a lot of areas. Good luck on wherever you move

Report: High rise homicide in Jersey City
by Michaelangelo Conte Wednesday November 07, 2007, 4:27 PM

Homicide investigators have been dispatched to a Downtown Jersey City high rise where a man was found bludgeoned to death today, officials said.

Detectives were dispatched to the Portside Tower, 100 Warren St., at 3:15 p.m. and they found the adult male dead, apparently of blunt force trauma, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said.

Investigators believe a weapon was used in the killing but they have not yet determined what it was, DeFazio said.

No additional information is available.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's Homicide Squad at (201) 915-1345.

that sucks, I was just there with my dog around that time and didn't see a thing. On the other hand, I did see some kid on a bike trying to get in my neighbors mailboxes around the Van Vorst area until he took off when I saw him. I wish I was closer so I could of seen his face or say something.

I think the dog run is a good size for the park. Considering the amount of dogs in it when I have brought my dog there. The only thing that is going to make the place a canine excrement collection facility is the people walking there dogs on every inch of green space outside of the run and not cleaning it up. Compared to the run in WSP or madison park in the city, this one always seems to get just as much use, even though there are less people living around it.
