BTW, no official update on the Start of Morning STARS or CASPER yet.

I don't know about Morning STARS, but the CASPER calendar is out. That's actually how I first noticed the discrepancies in the calendar. First day of CASPER is Monday 9/12.

This is great, thank you.

Just a couple of observations.

For elementary school, Report Card Distribution is 12/1 not 11/30.

School reopen 1/3 not 1/2.

I did not see an early dismissal on 6/18.

Last day of school is 6/21 not 6/20.

And because trials are usually last on the docket in municipal court, don't be surprised if you end up waiting around only to have your case rescheduled.

That's when you invoke your sixth amendment right, right to a speedy trial. Doesn't mean the judge will accept it, but it is your right.

You're best bet is the cop doesn't show up and the case is dismissed because of lack of prosecution. This does come with a risk as you will have to plead not guilty and go to trial. The court will subpoena the cop. If he doesn't show, you win, no points, no fine. If he does show, you now have to defend yourself.

Verizon DSL is spotty downtown because the CO is in the Heights. Clear 4G has Jersey City covered pretty well. We've been using it for about a month and is much happier with it than Verizon DSL.

It's not the amount, it's the principle.  And, no I did not try to exaggerate the amount by a penny.  They did not round up to the nearest 4 cent, they rounded up to the nearest nickel.

I did ask for the manager and they told me it was to get me to $0.70.  They did not even offer to take it away as a one time courtesy.

My wife and I decided to try Teppan yesterday. The food was OK, but we got a little surprise when the check came.  Apparently, they decided that they should round up our bill to the nearest nickel. Needless to say, we will never be going back.

The $400 and no points is you pleading guilty to "Unsafe Driving." It has very minor consequences, but nonetheless consequences.

Your best bet is "Lack of Prosecution." There is a 50/50 chance that the cop will not show up when subpoenaed (unless he trolls this site). You are innocent until proven guilty. If there is no witness to testify and prove you guilty, the city has no case.

The prosecutor will try to scare you into paying the $400. Don't fall for it. Do your homework.
