Re: N.J. Transit May Cut Projects, Raise Fares Due to Lease Deals

There are no employees at NJ TRANSIT that make $300,000...not even close...There hasn't been a cost of living increase for employees in 20 years...average salary increase is 2-3% and many years salaries were frozen...for this reason, NJ TRANSIT employees standard of living is quite low for a state with the highest income per capita in the US...NJ TRANSIT employees work much harder and for far less than employees in similar industries...They make far less than Port Authority employees.

I've actually been there 6 times (bar, meal at bar, brunch, and dinner) so I think I can make an informed decision...It is better than Lighthorse...IMO...Is that OK with you (validating my credentials)

Yeah, great place to have drinks outside...A few weeks ago, my wife and I were walking by and some drunk ass was verbally harrassing us from one of the outside tables...That doesn't happen at any other bar with outdoor seating in Jersey City...Classy patrons at this place.

Absolutely love it...I have been there several times, twice over the past two weeks and love the place. Besides the great design of the place, the food is awesome...I think it's better than Lighthorse. I had a steak, which was perfect and a burger that was perfect as well. Too bad we are moving out of JC next week...I was so nice having a great restaurant in my neighborhood...

Re: Maniac drivers who speed through crosswalks (and stop signs)

This is one of the reasons we sold our place and are moving out to the country...I walk down Erie street every morning at 5:15am (a nut who goes to the gym before the sun comes up) and I would say 4 times a week a car has to stop short because they are cruising threw stop signs...In the state of NJ, pedestrians have the right of way in EVERY crosswalk. I recently visited Rome and walkers are on their own...I just followed the crowd. In fact, most crosswalks were removed over the past few years...I guess we are headed that way.

I ran over to get something out of my car at 6am (parked across from the old St Francis and nearly tripped trying to avoid Horse dropping...
