The party is over in the United States. We are about to witness the lasting decline of the US consumer and his world dominance.
We have yet to feel the shock waves of the financial collapse, but if you want to get an idea of how you're life is about to change take a look at the MTAs hearings today. Like many, they are hemorrhaging. Fare hikes and service cuts. Everyone everywhere will be doing it, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait until we start have one million a month unemployed. We're on our way. Do you still think it's a good idea to rack up credit card debt and spend, spend, spend? With all the money currently being printed by the Fed inflation is coming. Might not be for another 12-18 months, but it's coming. Anyone know the meaning of stagflation? You will in 2010-2011. So will all your neighbors. Dump you're US stocks, cut up your credit cards and put your savings in gold. It is time to start saving again, just like your grandparents did.

Dear America,
I think I love you. I have never felt more kinship for my fellow Americans as I do tonight. My countrymen finally saw through the hate, anger and fear that is the Conservative Right and conjured up enough courage to elect a man named Barack Hussein Obama. They did so because they see in President-Elect Obama everything John McCain and George Bush are not. Someone who will, among other things, regulate the economy, fix our foreign policy, ensure healthcare for the sick and stimulate the growth of a clean/green energy industry. John McCain gave an impressive and gracious speech tonight. It was the John McCain of 2000, when he cast himself as a center-right candidate above the fray of down and dirty politics. It was the McCain who endeared himself to many independents with his honest talk and political courage. Sadly, this was not the McCain of the 2008 political season. To start with, he lost all credibility - and the race - when he selected his incompetent running mate. America didn\'t want another rube in the White House, they wanted CHANGE. You know, people with qualifications. But it sure has been a damaging eight years of Bush, Cheney, Rove, DeLay, Frist, Rumsfeld, Hastert, Scooter, Ridge, Ashcroft and Gonzales. Finally, FINALLY, it is over. Thank you America! Ps - I will inform Justices Stevens and Ginsburg that it is now safe for them to retire from the Supreme Court. Scalia, on the other hand, may want to postpone his purchase of that condo in Boca Raton. Yours, Dusted

Get a green card before I deport you limey. Like Brian Em, you wear glasses and pretend to be a trendy graphic designer when you're nothing more than a hipster republican. Just look at Brian's facebook account and you'll see what I'm talking about, you British socialist. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND SARAH PALIN.

Injcsince81 and I are wealthy individuals. We are approaching retirement age and we have nothing better to do but monitor this board and question your facts. Re: Sharpton NYC Protests Planned for Wednesday

Al Sharpton is the wrong person to lead the protesting against Sean Bell's murder.
Read the clipping below. In 2005 he appeared in TV commercials as a pitchman for a predatory car title lending company that targeted low-income earners. These short-term high interest loans secured by a car title can be even more disastrous than payday loans. They trap borrowers into long-term debt. As more and more Americans now face mounting debt in a weak economy, and predatory lending has ravaged low-income individuals, you wonder why it is the NY Times and Washington Post have not followed up on Sharpton's callous, selfish salesman pitch that sold-out his people three years ago. (Washington Post, 11/29/2005): Loan Ranger: If You've Got a Car, He's Got the Keys to Cash By Amy Argetsinger and Roxanne Roberts In commercials airing locally, the ever-colorful Sharpton stands on a stage with an American flag and happily declares, "Finally, there's someone in Virginia who will loan money to people the big guys won't loan to." Car title lenders give cash to those who own their cars free and clear, with interest rates that can approach 300 percent annually. The lender can repossess and sell the car if the short-term loan is not repaid on time. The controversial practice is permitted in about half the states, and consumer groups are pushing hard for more regulation. "These are predatory small loans," said Jean Ann Fox of the Consumer Federation of America. "If I felt this is in any way abusive, I would stop doing the ads," Sharpton said yesterday. He filmed three commercials for LoanMax, a Georgia-based company with 150 offices across the country, and said he considers these loans different from predatory ones because the borrowers have assets (the car) but not the credit rating to get bank loans. "The ads are working very well," said LoanMax President Rod Aycox, who declined to say what Sharpton was paid. The spots began airing last week in Virginia, Iowa and New Mexico, states where legislators have proposed capping interest rates, and Aycox plans to continue them for another few weeks. "People just love Reverend Sharpton."
