Re: Low water pressure 8th & Erie?

Uh.... interesting development on 5th street (btw. Jersey and Coles). The street seems to have cracked and is spewing forth water.

That can't be good. Fire and water folks are on the scene, though.

I can vouch for Holly, she's a family friend and I sent here here thinking it might be a good resource for her.

I mean, if my 7 posts on here validates anything, haha.

Check out http://www.pianoadoption.com/states/free_pianos_NJ.html - there's a world of free pianos out there that will just end up in a dump, sadly! I think you usually just have to pay for the mover.

Re: How do I get from Manhattan to Jersey City after 10:00?

I've been catching the 126, but the first time I got through the line at PA at about 10:30 the bus that came wasn't stopping in Hamilton Park. So I waited and tried to time it so I'd get in the line at the right time to make the 11:15 bus. Which I did, along with a few other J.C. folks. The buses seem to be on schedule (10:20 and 11:15), but no way to assure you will get on the bus due to the line. Pretty silly system.

There must be a better way, but so far, that's the only way I've been able to get back home after 10. And it's for a very limited window. Otherwise, I think it's the 125 to JSQ.

I agree, the margarita was super salty. The flavors were right, and the crust was tasty, but the salt was definitely an issue. Still, nice to see the place picking up. Crazy as that lady was, I kind of miss the old pizza dude they had. He was consistent. I... need pizza consistency in my life...

The turkey is currently strolling down 5th between Jersey and Coles. Do the cops still care? Or should we just let it do its thing?

I second this! Happened to my husband last summer (he's an international, doesn't assume everyone is out to rip him off, like the rest of us) - the cashier didn't say it was a promotion, no "red flag", he just automatically signed him up for it. Didn't say anything about what it was, or that you had to call to cancel or it would automatically deduct from your card. IN FACT, the promotional material doesn't say that either, if I remember correctly, it was on the receipt. We went all the way back to the mall after we realized and stood there with the manager while he phoned up to cancel it.

Incidentally, we haven't been back to FYE since.

Thank you for letting us know what was going on, Slacky. I live on this block and was wondering what could inspire all those cops to start banging on doors and screaming at 3:30am. At first I thought it was the recycling guys (that's not unusual in their case), then realized it was a night early for that...

In any case, I have to agree with what was said earlier - wouldn't it have been great to have all those cops there 2 nights ago when that poor girl was beaten and mugged? There's actually a lot of REAL crime happening these days...

Side note, didn't we just HAVE a bomb scare around the corner a month ago?
