Honestly, the state of the roads here is an embarrassment.

The size of some of the pot holes is criminal. The repairs that are done are either non-existent (I can't believe the craters on some of the roads seemingly get ignored so long) or are cheap and not going to last more than a few months.

Gas tax should be raised on the condition that the additional tax revenue is reinvested directly into infrastructure.

As a Brit, I'd rather it was as it is back home. In the UK I'd tip 10-15% for average to above average service. 15-20% for exceptional service.

If the service was below par I'd leave nothing (or $0.01 just to make a point that my near non-existent tip wasn't an oversight, but by design), and I'd not expect any grief or feel any guilt in doing so.

Anyone have any idea why they insist on showing those frustrating scrolling messages on the screens in exchange place showing when the next scheduled train is, rather than just showing the actual time until the next train?

Even if the data isn't available for some reason to show the actual time, they should at least change the scrolling messages for a shortened static one. The words that cause it to need to scroll are completely superfluous.
