WHEN? Friday, October 30 from 7:00pm-11:30pm

WHERE? Art House Productions (136 Magnolia Ave. - right around the corner from the Journal Square PATH station)

WHAT? Live music, food, drinks, costume contest, door prizes, and more!

Whip it with The Fantastic Plastics out of NYC, who will bring their new wave/synth punk sound for a Devo cover set, and have your last dance with Mary Jane with Jersey City's own Cemetery Goats, who will be rocking an all-Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers set.

Enjoy a selection of beers for purchase from New Jersey Beer Co. and other great food and drink selections.

Think you have the best costume in town? Show it off at our costume contest and win great prizes from shops and restaurants around JC!

WHO? Founded in 2011, Jersey City Ties focuses on community engagement through volunteering, social, and networking events, and is open to anyone who lives or works in Jersey City ... or who just loves the city like we do! Over the years we have partnered with many local groups to host community service events, including the Hudson County Boys & Girls Club, Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery, Ogden's End Community Garden, and the food pantries at The Sharing Place and Old Bergen Church. We also love to have fun and frequently host happy hours and other social and networking events to help connect folks in JC, whether you're new to the area or simply looking to meet new people around town!

This is a 21+ event (so bring your ID!) $8 discount price for all advance purchases available at jerseycityties.brownpapertickets.com. Otherwise, $10 admission at the door.

Special thanks to our sponsor New Jersey Beer Company ... check them out at http://www.njbeerco.com/.

Does anyone know if there is a fund set up to help pay for repairs? Or have contact information for anyone who helps with the upkeep on the memorial to talk to about setting up a kickstarter campaign?

What looks like cranes or similar machinery has popped up in the park area across the canal from Sugar House in Paulus Hook. Any idea what these are for? Something related to the Super Bowl concert/party at LSP?
