School room location needed for short film project

Hi!

Anyone have information or suggestions on how we may go about getting a school room for a 2-day (weekend) for short film project?

We could use any school room and need hallway outside of room for filming. Dates are flexible, just trying to gather information at this point.

Thanks for any help you may offer!

Honestly, kids don't poop and pee in the grass...and in case you haven't looked, the 'kid zone' is pretty well defined.

Minnie,

You really are the only one who sees this park renovation as "wrong", it is spectacular and is such an improvement over the old park that it makes me happy to look at it everyday...please keep your anger focused inward...there has to be a better outlet for your desperate unusual need to 'garden"...maybe Home Depot could use your expertise? A little extra money would be nice around the holidays!

As for the Hamilton Park residents, we don't need your gardening "expertise" please use your own property to create a garden oasis, and charge us admission to view its grandeur!

PS...SamS I'm with you...

Appreciate what a gift this is, and learn to be grateful..

Minnie,

You are an extremely negative person. You behave as if the park belonged to you personally, and you personally financed the project and your needs must be heard, I don't know how large and ego you must have, but the fact that you seem to think you have ANY rights to anything inside the park is simply proof positive. Leave the park alone, let it be, it will be beautiful and a welcome addition to the area and all who spend time there. It will hurt no one, and if there are no community gardens for you to play with, you will have to make alternate plans, the city does not owe you anything. Please use your energy to help other people, and stop trying to push your agenda on the park, you don't see other people doing what you do, it is not appreciated by anyone nor is it helpful to force your unsolicited opinion.

I for one would not want the "FOH" to maintain 'gardens" in the park when they cannot even maintain their blog!

You cannot have community members volunteer to "build" gardens when everyone has different tastes and aesthetic sensibility...the previous 'community garden' was such an eyesore that only about 2 people maintained and the vast majority found wholly unappealing.

WHY can't people plant their own gardens in their backyards, or find a vacant lot to beautify (there are plenty of those!) and please leave the public park to the professional landscapers.

Or maybe you could share the "children's community garden" surely you could muscle them out of the way.

For the few people who are devastated by the loss of the brush around the gazebo please keep these things in mind:

1. If those gardens were so important to your well-being you would have maintained them and cared for them right up until the renovation started.

2. We have not even seen what will be planted and how aesthetically pleasing the new plantings will or will not be.

3. We also do not know the quality of maintenance the city will offer, though it can't be much worse than the previous maintenance of those gardens.

4. Why is anyone being critical about a renovation project that is far from being complete? Several people who complain on this board have tremendous fear of change, and control issues. The park will be beautiful when completed, it will be enjoyed by many, and honestly shouldn't add any upset to your lives in any way.

Relax, be happy.

Under the topic of "get a life!" the "petition signers" need to get their priorities straight! NOBODY deserves or has the right to ANY of these things we are being offered...the park renovation, or the temporary park being donated..none of it is your RIGHT, they are all benefits and privileges to living in the area, and the generosity of a developer who wants to share some vacant property....any demands on these situations are blatant selfishness, nothing more. AND as a lifetime dog owner, have you EVER heard of walking your dog on a leash??? It actually won't kill you or your dog, and may actually give YOU more exercise than your dog, wouldn't that be nice for the neighborhood?

Never underestimate what people will complain about...NEVER! This renovation is so BADLY needed, many of us longtime (10 years or more) residents have been looking forward to the new park for years...after seeing the VVP renovation, we should be so lucky.
What people fail to understand is the public spaces are a PRIVILEGE and not RIGHT. The deed or lease to your home does not include RIGHTS to a park. If the city has earmarked money for this renovation (so badly needed) why would ANYONE stand in the way? The benefit of a beautiful new park will enhance everyone's lives in the area while improving the property value and quality of life. Why would you complain about that?? Will there ever be a perfect time to close the park?? The minor inconvenience of having to walk to OTHER recently renovated park 3 blocks away, or the sprawling 600 acres of Liberty state park down Jersey Ave, or even VVP...there are options and none of them horrible.
Many people don't have a park in their backyard, and those that do, don't have the city willing to spend millions of dollars to give it a complete makeover. PLEASE be inconvenienced for the months it takes to give our park a makeover, and embrace the gift of a new renovated park....meanwhile explore other park areas in the city and let the renovation begin now (winter is not an option, snow and ice would delay it ever further into next spring).

How people can even put the idea of two consenting adults entering into a contract for love and legal protection, alongside relations with minors, and people living like animals is insane. When 2 adults, not 3 or 4 or 5....not dogs, cats or children, when 2 adults decide to enter into a marriage contract there is no one on earth, or no thing on earth that is affected by that union other than the 2 people involved.

They will NEVER hurt your relationship, your family or status on the planet. They will exist in their own space and go about their lives, never asking about or infringing on the relations of straight people. They will never judge the multiple of times that straight people get married and re-married, over and over. They just wish to be allowed to be loved and protected under the same laws as all loving adult couples.

I have to chime in and say that the Park Renovation has been YEARS in the making, and so long overdue, that the idea of putting off construction even one more day could jeopardize the whole project. Being inconvenienced for a few months is a very small price to pay. The renovation must be done in good weather, and the winter is not an option. We all must deal with the few months of inconvenience and not postpone at all for fear of a project stalled by ice and snow. We've all waited WAY too long for Hamilton Park to get its makover, and as long as the money is in place, don't allow the project to become stalled and the money disappear.....!
