The last scene in "Sid and Nancy" (1986) has Gary Oldman getting a
slice of pizza and rapping with some kids on the waterfront at
Washington Street. I'm amazed every time I see it to see how
far this city has come back.

Has anyone else on this site had it with constantly sidestepping small and large "packages" that some of our current citizens let their dogs leave on the sidewalk? It's disgusting and it's getting worse. I propose a forum where pics of these people are posted. I know that most only do it when no one is looking,
but if we keep vigilant we can at least get a few of them.

While it's a gamble renting out your place,
the money may be too good to pass up. I used a company
called Harborside Due Diligence, (www.harborsidedd.com) last year when checking out a
potential contractor. They could answer any questions and
they're reasonably priced as well. They're also located in Jersey City.

I was at Marin and Christopher Columbus the other day and I noticed a new place that just opened, Cafe 95. The place looked real nice, but I didn't have the time to eat there. Has anyone checked it out?

New to Jersey City and in need of a contractor. I've interviewed some and they seem to check out, but I've been burnt before by some companies that seemed legit but turned out to be crooks. Does anyone know of a service that does background checks on people or companies so I can be sure they're on the up-and-up? I've tried Angie's List, but I don't find it to be reliable.
