We moved 2 months ago and had to pick up our signs from the parking authority and post them. There were still cars parked in the space on the move day and the police came by quickly and were able to track down our neighbors and have them move their vehicles. Good luck with your move!

Did they have any beer taps? I think they had said they were going to be putting a few in, but haven't seen them the two times I was there (last time about a month ago).

I think all they had was "canned bear" (someone next to me had a Genesee) but I wasn't looking, so didn't really notice if they had taps or not.

I was there last Friday and they said taps are being installed this week.

There's a sign up that they are serving coffee & egg sandwiches in the morning, starting today. When I walked by around 8:30 the door was open, but I didn't see anyone inside.

Our car was broken into on 2nd Street last week. I assumed that we had left it unlocked since there was no damage or broken windows, but maybe not?! I didn't bother with the police since I figured it was our fault.

I agree that individuals can (and should) clear out the storm drains and make sure the snow/ice-melt has a path to them. I do on our corner, if not out of the neighborly goodness of my heart, then because I don't want to be the one trudging through slush and/or slipping on ice until spring...

But why doesn't the city use street cleaning time to come around and remove snow all the way to the curb and from corners/crosswalks? I understand suspending street cleaning during an actual storm, when you want to discourage people from driving. But the roads are clear today, schools & offices, etc. are open, why not make people move their cars?

Having clear streets and corners would make life between storms so much better, for both pedestrians and parkers.

(I used to live in Cambridge/Boston, where it generally snows more than it does here, and that's how they do it. They also manage to have street cleaning just twice a month per side of the street, yet the streets look much better than JC's, but that's another thread...)

Actually, most neighborhoods of Boston don't have any daytime street cleaning during the winter months. Certain main roads have nighttime parking restrictions that allows them to clean up those roads. But most residential streets will stay snow covered until it melts, so people resort to saving "their" shoveled spots with garbage cans, etc. I'm really happy that people don't do that here. I can't comment on Cambridge though, I never lived over there.
And, yes, I too miss the only weekly street cleaning!

That's exactly what it means. You don't have to inspect a new car for 5 years from purchase in NJ.

I don't remember seeing any signs on Coles on Tuesday evening when I walked the dog. By yesterday around 1pm there were signs posted every few feet. How much advanced notice do they need to give? Barely 24 hours seems too short, especially on a Wednesday when you don't need to move from either side.

Yes! Those meatball sliders were amazing. I highly recommend them to anyone going this weekend.
I thought the rice balls were on par with last year, always tasty.
