So I work for a large investment company in Europe (used to live in JC, still re-appear ever fee months). Said company has offices all over. There are no 'mass protests' against goverment quarantine - where on earth are you getting this stuff? And as for stopping people from Europe (including the island of iceland and excluding the British Isles (including Ireland)), seems a bit daft considering the lack of testing in the US means that a visitor is more likely to go back to europe with covad-19 than bring it to the US...

Same leak - they have been removing the debris from that pier for months and finally found the leak! Now it has to be fixed and I guess that pier needs some TLC too!

The work on the next pier up is not the same as the work that will take place on the marina pier (once the permits are issued) THAT pier has an electic cable connecting NJ to NYC - it has something called dielectic fluid around the electrically bits and that was leaking. The actual leak was found a few weeks ago...

Ah, but only one is named after a stone outside a mansion... (Kitchen Step linky) We'll see how the name confusion works out - some of the yelp reviews for Grove St Kitchen were obviously for some other place (which has tv screens) so the area causes confusion without the names :(

There was a windbreak / vestibule covering from the bottom of the steps up to the door last time I was there (~2 weeks back) guess they got given the green light for it
Also I asked about the liquor license and it's coming soon- gonna be a small bar to the left of the pastry glass thing And they are going to do a chefs tasting early evening at the place the dishes are placed for the servers (The pass I think it is called) - I raised my eyebrows as it always seems busy there - and the Chef said early evening so everyone wins!

Its three years since they opened - could be the lease expired or they simply didn't renew
There was a sign up (when i last passed) telling people who had turned up for a party to go to another location(!) The Skylark on the Hudson website simply says they are currently closed

When we moved to JC in the mid '90s, we were told Lefrak had planning permission(?) for Newport (the Pavonia bit is now silent) which involved 11 towers on it from the PATH down to the Hoboken border...
Dunno how far they have got, but if they have less than 11... we'll see more as they believe the market can support it

1 Greene is one of the oldest condos in the area - as a result it's tax abatement was one of the first to go
we sold in 2005 and the buyer knew what the property tax was when they bought and that it was going to ***double*** a few months later As for the maintenance costs - when we were there, all the condos 4th floor and above got a deeded parking space which you had to pay for the valet service - 'people' wanted 24 x 7 front desk staff - and obviously that costs money! - that roof still isn't fixed? - When we were leaving, the building across the street (where the green cow used to be) was causing water to penetrate the brickwork - is that fixed now?
