Ok so it?s clear you have some objections to the study. And I was misinformed in thinking some of edlaw researchers were related to Rutgers. Also if they are funded by JCEA I agree there is probably some bias there. But I looked on your blog and see no disclosure of your name/identity. I think that it would be powerful to disclose this information so we can see what your potential agenda/bias may be. Especially if you are accusing others...

Stateaids identity doesn't matter; the data does. If I were stateaid I'd stay anonymous, especially in NJ. Stop focusing on the wrong thing.

Stateaidguy's identity is entirely appropriate to focus on, especially when he (?) claims to be from "one of the Oranges". Why is he on this board? Who's interest is he serving with his posts? There could be very legitimate reasons for him to be here, but the conversation would be much better served by knowing the answer to those questions.

A quick look at his website and his twitter account reveals his identity, so I don?t think he is hiding anything.

And from an op-ed: Jeffrey Bennett is a former member of the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education.
https://www.app.com/story/opinion/colu ... bute-school-aid/97703600/

He is apparently also a former teacher and librarian:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/patch.com ... e-profile-jeffrey-bennett

I say good for him. We need more people willing to put in the time and effort to do the research and share ideas. But you?re right - it?s always good to check your sources

Natalia Ioffe served PS 16 as a leader of the parent council, and she displayed a great deal of creativity in fundraising, as well as in creating programs for students and parents. Our family has directly benefited so much from her hard work, so she has my vote.

See where each school in Jersey City ranks against its peers, according to the performance of its students on annual PARCC tests:

https://jerseycityed.com/parcc-score-reports/

The results include charter schools and are grouped by school type (Elementary, Grammar, MS, MS/HS, HS).

We summarized the data for all schools listed with Jersey City as the District in a single easy to swallow format. Take a look at Jersey City Ed:

P.S. Having reviewed the data, some charter schools are present, but other charter schools (LCCS, TECCS, METS, University Academy) are absent because they were not listed with Jersey City as the District. Let me know if you know of other schools, and we will update the chart soon.

Updated to include these additional schools:

University Academy Charter High School

My wife and I have learned a lot about navigating the Jersey City public school system, particularly in the past few months as we have three kids all moving on to new schools in the fall. And while we certainly don?t know everything, we figured it would be worthwhile to share what we have learned. Click the link below and have a look:

Jersey City Ed

We hope to continue adding more content over time, and we are always open to feedback, questions, suggestions, and corrections. Feel free to point out oversights and omissions as well. The goal is to make it a useful resource for parents and students.

I'm looking at a 1BR condo at 1 Greene St. and would like to know if anyone has any input on the following?

1) How did it fare in Sandy and Irene?
2) What does a 1BR in the building rent for?
3) What is the financial status of the homeowner's association?
4) What is the new cost of homeowner's insurance and flood insurance?
5) What is the story on property taxes, condo fees, and special assessments?

Is anyone familiar with summer camps in Jersey City? I have found the city's Summer Fun Program:

http://jerseycitynj.gov/recreation.aspx?id=3914

And the Boys and Girls Club has a summer program as well:

http://www.bgchc.org/

But are there others? I am particularly interested in camps in the downtown area.

What is the nearest / best place for a 9 year old to play roller hockey near Paulus Hook?

I have searched around and have not found much. Is anyone interested in attending or helping to organize a Skate Night at the paved playground outside Cornelia Bradford Elementary School (PS 16) in Paulus Hook? Private message me if interested.
