Youth Community Service
#1
Not too shy to talk
Not too shy to talk

Good afternoon neighbors.
I have 2 boys, 5 and 10 years old and I'm looking for youth community service groups and projects in Jersey City. If there isn't one available, i'd like to start one. Please comment here and point me to people in the community I can talk to for projects and tasks. Thank you in advance.

This can be in any section of Jersey City

Sold my 2 family house in downtown.
Bought a two family on Sherman in the heights for half the price.
3 times the space.
I have a driveway and back yard now.
I love my new neighborhood.

Please. It's a tip jar. I'm glad he stole it and hope he continues on his "rein of terror," stealing the sacrosanct tip jars and all, lol. The "tip jar" is a relatively new phenomenon in the latest incarnation of American Capitalism. Like the induction of fee structures courtesy the financial industry (fee for this and fee for that,) everybody is squeezing the next guy for as many pennies as possible. Straight up joke, shouldn't ever be no tip jar, wasn't that way in the seventies, I can attest. Obviously the "offender" has spent a few nights without the necessities most take for granted. F***ing America and its Capitalist ethos.

Just remember people, what goes around comes around and as the great divide between the haves and have nots continues to widen, there gonna be trouble in the waters in the not too distant.

Tipping is optional, so who is being squeezed?

If I decide to tip - I'd like to be able to split the tip up between the waiter/server/cook/owner and whoever contributed to my experience. Double-the-tax is pretty neanderthal - as are tip jars. My bill should tell me who did what - so I can allocate a tip (if any).

you might be overthinking this.

My thoughts exactly.

So I started this post to create some kind of intelligent dialogue about the poorly constructed speed humps and the solutions that would follow.

The majority of the replies consist of.

1. Fuck the speeders
2. The humps are to big

The only factual response was the when someone posted the guide to how high they are suppose to be.

Im a parent in the hamilton park area and Im all for the speed humps. But lets be realistic here, its not built to code, and people are complaining about and experiencing damage.

Just fix them and I think everyone will be happy.

Well, not everyone, but most.

Is way to big. Ive seen a dozen cars mess up there front ends hitting it. Also. there are 2 stop signs 300 feet from each other, why do you need a freaking speed bump.
Someone please explain why this oversized hidden unnecessary speed bump exists?

Ghetto Bar on 7th and Monmouth Street

Is a big f*cking problem. I live close to the intersection and EVERY night theres a ruckus out front of the bar. The bar closes at 3am, and I know this because every night at 3 I hear loud music, fights, cursing and screaming.

What steps can I take to bring this down to a minimum?

My kids window is by the street and they can hear everything.

Every saturday (busiest night) around closing there is a fight. Always ends in bottle throwing and cops coming by.

I write this because its 3am and of course its happening again.

Someone help.

My wifes bike was chained to a fence on 9th street between coles and mommouth. It was a new specialized pink cruiser with a child seat and a basket.

I think cameras would be a great deterrent.

As for the idiot trolling the post. Start a new thread and post your heavily biased statements and come to this post with solutions or comments.

DelForno, they have been wonderfully incompetent ever since I've been in Jersey. And I got here in 95'.

But you do have power. Learn the law and be empowered.

I've eaten at every pizza spot in downtown jersey city. My personal fav would have to be Paulas Hook Brick Oven Pizza.
You have to get a supreme and YES its overpriced. But the toppings are fresh and their supreme is just mouth watering.
