Re: Possible Gun Shots Last Night Fired/Heard Around 3:35 AM

I heard this as well from a block west of Hamilton Park. From here it sounded like it came from the south, towards Newark avenue. It really sounded more like fireworks because of how well synchronized the "shots" were.

I've had my LED lights stolen from my bike at the Grove Path. No real vandalism though. I absolutely would not leave a higher end bicycle locked up there.

I also rent a 2br in HP area for $1400. Craigslist is the way to go.

Does anyone know if the gas stations approaching the Holland tunnel or exiting the tunnel are up as yet?

I live in Hamilton Park and that smell was godawful. It was definitely coming from outside but was so much more pronounced inside my apt when I woke up.

I'm going to venture out in this rain and see if Lizzmonade is out there. I love that stuff.

I went to A&P and saw a flock of geese crossing the street into the parking lot. It struck me as really odd, good to see it wasn't just me.

Thank you for sharing that link. The video is no longer available but based on the stills I'm almost certain that he is leaving my building. I'm going to print out the stills and have the detective working on it take a look at them. I haven't seen the video from my burglary (I'm new and figured I wasn't going to recognize anyone) but now I'm really curious to take a look at the person. Also, really concerned this happened last year as well.

Get used to it. That's my stuff under that guys arm. It was the 3rd or 4th robbery in that building in the 5 years I lived there.

In every case, the thief was able to get through the locked front door.

Best part was the landlords reaction "Weird. When people get robbed here, its usually when they are moving in or out."

USUALLY?!

Landlord has def been kind of a douche about it. It's been close to 4 weeks and his "contractor" hasn't even come to make the requested modifications to my door. I've since invested in renter's insurance and an alarm system. Just trying to make it to the end of my lease then I'm out of here.

The guy caught on camera burglarizing my place a few weeks ago definitely did not stand out as much as I'd hope. He was able to walk out of the building in broad daylight holding a bag full of electronics and a 42" television and no one thought twice.

PathH8Tr, what you mention about the menus is interesting. My building tends to get bombarded with those things. I'm going to pay closer attention to who I see dropping those off.

I had a break-in three weeks ago. 8th st b/t Monmouth and Coles. I live on the second floor and the burglar apparently was buzzed into the building. I've even been guilty of letting in strangers, never again. Let us be vigilant.

They must have been let into the building as I live on the 2nd fl. The door had been pried open. I did not have the bolt lock on which in retrospect was my mistake. I'm a bit more optimistic today as JCPD called and asked me about an item I hadn't even realized was stolen. Maybe they've found something/someone.

I came home today to find my apartment (8th st. b/t Monmouth & Coles) had been burglarized. The thief made off with a 42" tv, PS3, laptop, etc. Apparently this happened in broad daylight while I was at work. I found JCPD to be very responsive but I doubt I'll see any of my things again. I just moved into the neighborhood, what a welcome!
