Aren't the parking decks required to 'hidden' in LHN? Most of the buildings in LHN, such as Gull's Cove, have a parking deck on the first few floors, but you can't tell at all from the outside. Gull's Cove is the best example. It has a four floor parking deck.

Fintan Magee...its called "remembering the clouds" and it looks even cooler when the lot is full of cars.

He's a great guy as well.

Wow, thanks for posting this. Fintan's work is amazing. I did not realize he has painted murals all over the world.

Did this impact the building where the new Porta is going to be? I hear it's amazing inside. I can't wait of the opening. Porta is really going to set the bar for a good restaurant and entertainment venue in general.

Yeah, I am real impressed at the work Porta is doing at that spot as well. They completely gut renovated the space, added a roof top bar, and huge windows on Columbus. I wonder how much all that cost.

These buildings are leasing at an amazing speed. I hear 18 Park has already leased almost half of their units.

I wish they would rebuild the huge spires at each corner of the building. City Hall used to be a gorgeous building.

As of 8:15pm today this guy is trying his scam at the corner of 1st and Erie, his black pickup is parked on the corner and he's wearing an orange t-shirt, just walked past him on my way home and had to check the youtube clip to see if it was him.

Too funny.

LOL, I guess he does not know about the Youtube video. That is ballsy though. How does he not expect to run into the same people again?

This guy parks a large truck on Grove and Morgan. He tells people passing by the he is out of gas and money and that he needs just a few dollars to walk to the nearest gas station to fill up a portable tank. Apparently a lot of Jersey City residents give him money. He has been making $150-$200 a day doing this. Just a heads up....

Who are these Aussies everyone is talking about, is it one person, a group, are they actually from Austrailia ? People have bank accounts all over the world and different names for corporations, they rubber stamp everything.

It is an investment group from Australia. They use money from Australian pensioners to buy real estate in JC.

What website shows the closing price?

In regards to the lot south of the Jersey Ave light rail, they are moving the parking lot that exists north of the station, south of the tracks. The lots north of the station (the current parking lot) will be new apartments.

Yes, it is mysterious to me. I know lots of people make lots of money - but wouldn't these people want to live in NYC rather than jersey city, if they obviously could afford it? Or even Brooklyn (like Dumbo and such) and queens??? I know I would, in a heart beat, if I could afford that.

There is still a huge difference in what $1 million will buy you in NYC vs JC. Also, I think NYC is now overrated. I know I will be flamed into oblivion for uttering such blasphemy. It is just my personal opinion; please don't hate...

These prices do not seem impressive to me. A row house just off Hamilton Park for about $1 million is completely normal.

All listings for Grand St in that area that I've found are either outdated or hinting at remediation. Is chromium still a problem there?

Most of the new condo projects built around Grand St are on lots that have been remediated. Some people, however, believe that chromium contamination is still a problem. I, personally, am not sure what to believe.

Yes! just sign up with a good real estate agency and start shopping, most of these properties are not so much "distressed" they may need a new bathroom and a kitchen remodel, but they are in pretty good shape and they make great rentals.
I would say allot of these homes are located in distressed areas, just think of DTJC 1988.

I have looked at a warehouse for 150k which sold for 390k in 2007, no bidding war its just in a distress part of town.

Is this in DTJC?
