This was one of the few places that existed back in '99, when I moved to JC, that GOT me to me here. Many fond memories and Maggie ran a great joint. A shame to here of the demise...on 9/11 my wife had to ferry out of Manhattan to Hoboken and then walked to JC. We met here late in the afternoon after a day of me worrying my ass off, strange memory, sad and happy, I guess. That night we all ended up at Downtoen Eddies listening to Bush declare war...gees...starting to think i'm happy all this places are now closed.

My wife delivered at JCMC 2 years ago. The facility is brand spanking new. The delivery area is very nice and overall we thought the care was at the very least average if not above average. However, the maternity side was terrible, no breast feeding support, very little communication of information.

Maloney's for Meats

After 7 years, I moved out of JC to the burbs with my little one last year. This weekend I made a pilgrimage back to some of my favorite haunts, to include Pecaro's (sp?) for Italian bread and Maloney's butcher shop. I felt compelled to advertise for both. These types of family run, old school establishments are a dying breed and deserve all the support they deserve. Maloney's quality and price can't be beat...to include a full rack of very meaty pork ribs I slow roasted last night. Not sure what the price was per pound, however they cost me about 7 bucks.

Went last night, all very good. Like what they have done with the place. Only complaint is no hot sauce. I know it's traditional mexican and perhaps traditonal mexican does not include hot sauce...but I'd still like some. I use Cholula and Zapatos (sp?) at home which are both mexican made. Other wise food was great.
