Re: Please clean up your dog poop...

So after I picked my daughter up from school yesterday, I noticed that en route to Pershing park, our stroller had rolled into some dog poop. It took a few wipes, rolling the wheels in grass and old snow to get it off. My daughter and I decided to play a game of how many dog poo piles we could count on our way home from the park. Between Manhattan and Summit up to Bowers St, we counted 32 poop piles. Sofaking disgusting!

Re: bathtub liner removal

We called Empire. The warranty was only good for one year. It has been two years since we had it installed. They no longer do tub liners either. Hmmm, I wonder why? From what I read, a reglazing /refinishing job lasts btwn 5 and ten years. We hope to be out of this condo by the time it starts looking bad.

We had Empire install a tub liner two years ago that is now defective. Water is accumulating btwn the liner and the original tub. Can anyone recommend a removal service? We're also looking for a company that will refinish/reglaze the original tub. Thanks.

thank you for the info. Our child is already enrolled for preschool starting in Sept, but the school only offers pre-K 3. We were more interested for pre-K 4 for the following school year.

Spanish immersion schools in Jersey City and Hoboken.

My husband and I live in the Heights and are curious about enrolling our child at either HoLa in Hoboken or PS 5 in Jersey City. Does anyone have any experience with either school? I have a niece and nephew in TX who both go to a Spanish immersion school and their parents have nothing but good things to say about it.

Re: nanny vs daycare in the Heights

I've browsed through (briefly) the threads on this topic and I'm wondering what opinions people have on daycare (particularly in the Heights) vs a part-time nanny. I've looked at Baby Einstein Learning Center and it looked good, but any other Heights ONLY recommendations? Any nannies willing to work 1-2 days per week in the Heights?
Thanks...

Had dinner at Da Andrea last week with friends and we all were very pleased with our entrees. I had the cod special. It was extremely tasty! The bill came to about $125- 1 appetizer, 4 entrees, 1 bottle of wine and 3 desserts. Not bad. I would def. go there again. It's a small restaurant, so I would make reservations.

My wife and I ate Valentine's Day dinner at Sava's. Tres romantique! We had kielbasa and sauerkraut entrees and some pierogies on the side. The kraut was excellent, with little chunks of ham or ham-like meat mixed in. The pierogies were not quite like grandma used to make (none ever are), but delicious nonetheless.

Next time you venture in to Sava's, check out the wacky David Bowie waiter painting. You'll know what I mean when you see it.
