btw the quote in the nj.com article that food trucks in jersey city can 'easily make 2K a day' is pretty ridiculous.

maybe in manhattan. not even close in jersey city.

Given the amount of enthusiasm for your food truck, would you/are you considering opening a restaurant in the downtown Jersey City area?

we have been looking at spaces in downtown jersey city as well as securing financing to open a store for the last 4-5 months :)

the start up costs are far higher than a truck but it takes a lot more hours to run a food truck and you are much more vulnerable to things like weather, temperature and providing amenities so we welcome having the 'problems' of a brick n mortar.

Really glad I found this place on Delivery.com

The cheese steaks are awesome. That's all I've had there cause they are so good. My gf gets other dishes and has loved them all, from the chicken fingers to pasta dishes.

To some of the points raised here by articles and comments - our truck, and many trucks, have the same exact professional equipment as restaurants. We have two Bev-Air Commercial Grade Refrigerators that are the same as what goes into a brick and mortar. We check the temp constantly and they are workhorses.

The other cooking equipment in the truck is also the same commercial grade stuff that we would put into a store when we open one.

We also have a three basin sink for suds, rinse and sanitizer. Every dish that is washed also gets sanitized. We also have a handwash sink. And we go through 2 boxes of gloves per day. We change gloves like crazy. We know a lot of trucks that practice the same kind of sanitary techniques. I can say that I go to stores that don't use gloves enough or at all. There is no rule that says a truck is less sanitary than a store or vice versa. These new trucks are the equivalent of a small restaurant kitchen on wheels.

I go to either one depending on the mood I'm in. But if I want the best that I have had in that area, I go to the 2 Pitas in a Pod truck. It shows up in front of Duane Reade during the week. Their sandwiches are the best!

2 pitas are the truth. pricy but the quality matches the cost.

Thanks guys! This is one of the Two Pitas, the one that lives in JC actually (it's literally two of us owners, in a Pod). Thanks for the props! We do it all from scratch and give out healthy portions and glad you appreciate it!

Service will be sporadic for a bit now that Groove on Grove is over, but we are going to try to start serving down by Columbus & Marin for dinner in a couple of weeks. Just follow us on FB or Twitter so you know or just call us if you don't use 'em!
