The Parish of the Resurrection's main church is St. Mary's. They distribute food on Tuesdays if you wish to volunteer. You can drop food off at the school office anytime. It's on 3rd street between Manila & Erie.

When I go food shopping I make it a point to buy a couple of extra cans of food, or a bag of rice and then donate. It's just a few dollars extra, and it makes a big difference.

I've seen Silly Willy at the LCCS Juneapalooza. He's excellent with the kids and a lot of fun. There's a fair amount of kid involvement in his show. He's also from Jersey City, so he's local.

Some years ago a group from Ireland did a similar trip trying to prove that the voyage of Saint Brendan "the Navigator" was feasible. They made an open oxehide boat according to ancient specifications and sailed it from Ireland to America via Iceland & Greenland. This was known to be the probable route of Saint Brendan some 1500 years ago. The Irish were in Iceland when the vikings arrived, so it was certain they had at least gotten that far.

If Gerry McCann told me the sky was "up", I would still look out the window to check for myself.

Quote:
Basically...JC needs a massive upgrade of its sewer systems. The amount of flooding downtown and along the 1 and the 9 (particularly around Manhattan) is hard to excuse.

When river is running higher than the sewers, there's not much you can do to fix it.
