The JC food truck permits state that you have to be 200(?) feet from a restaurant, so with the opening of the Speakeasy no more food trucks in the Plaza?

if that's true, i'll never go there.

We were talking to the owner of this new truck IncrediBalls and asked if they would be in the Plaza. He told us that due to the opening of Speakeasy they couldn't because of the permit rules. He said only food carts, not food trucks could be there.

Farmer's Market, Groove on Grove, etc must be exceptions? I'm pretty sure I've seen trucks at those events since Speakeasy opened.

What's happened to this place? Has anyone else noticed that lately, the coffee is really weak? I am going to have to stop going there, as it's really undrinkable - both the hot and iced coffee has been really weak the past few times I've been there.

We live on Third halfway between Jersey and Eerie and the music from this house makes our windows vibrate with the bass. It's plenty loud here and we're a few houses away.

I was amazed to see that they are now open every day until 10pm - finally, the ability to buy groceries after 8pm!

"I would definitely entertain designating one night a week as "Fried Chicken Night" if the interest presented itself."

Heck yeah! Especially if you use tastier free-range chicken.

I want to switch to FIOS too, and when I typed in my address on the verizon website, I see they only offer DirectTV (along with internet and phone) - does that mean I need to install the dish on my roof / somewhere? Is this what everyone is using? Is there another, perhaps, better option? I also see "FIOS TV" and I'm wondering if thats the best.

I would call them and ask. I checked yesterday and it said the same for me, but I know my upstairs neighbors have it. When I called, there was a glitch in the system and my addressed had not been entered correctly. FIOS was indeed available.

I'm switching and getting more premium channels than I had with Comcast and still saving $35/month.

Staples also has a program - they charge for some things, but they for sure take printers:

The head of the JCIA came to the Harsimus Cove Neighborhood Association meeting a couple of months ago. Someone asked this question and he said as long as it has a triangle they would take it.

As for the question about whether or not they actually recycle - he said the money they receive from recycling nearly covers the cost of trash pickup and they would like people to recycle to the point where they are picking up recycling twice a week and garbage just once.

For the third time in the six months I've lived here (Harsimus Cove), I've had a package with a tracking number go missing. The central pots office was spectacularly unhelpful - transferring me before I could even get a sentence out and yelling at me that the tracking said it was delivered so it had to have been delivered to my address even though I didn't receive it (tracking info simply says it was delivered in Jersey City - not to which address).

The mail is delivered in a locked foyer so I can't imagine it would go missing after it was delivered - I know my neighbor and the other apt is the landlord.

I guess I will have to resort to renting a mailbox.

I filed a complaint to try and track down the missing package. After a week I finally got a call, the message informed me that they couldn't investigate because the complaint said I lived on 'Food' Street (I live on Third Street, which I spelled to the person recording the complaint) and there was no such street. No kidding. I've been trying to call back, but of course no one ever answers and there is no voice mail for the number she left me. Amazing.
