Union Republic?
Anything to do with the noodle place "Republic" at Union Square?? Sounds similar.

Neighborhoods like Downtown JC and Hoboken where once undesirable as well. We moved to Bergen Lafayette because we were priced out of Downtown. We've been in the Bela neighborhood for a few years & have no complaints. Yes it takes time and commitment for a neighborhood to come together & make change but it happens. You can't have that "give up" attitude. You have to take pride in your community & believe it will happen. That's why there's a strong community here, people support eachother because they want them to succeed and attract others. Cheers! to MAE & Pretty Little Things for taking a chance in our neighborhood and let's all support them. Thanks also to the artist(s) for the spectacular mural in the community garden. Keep it coming, Bela JC is a neighborhood on the rise!

I lived in the Foundry for a couple years & never experienced any of the issues mentioned in other posts. We decided to move because we bought a home in the neighborhood a couple blocks away. Yes, the neighborhood is limited but it's just a matter of time. If you're looking to invest some time in the area it will eventually pay off. Downtown JC & Hoboken weren't so appealing years ago either. In fact, I lived downtown on 3rd & Jersey Ave for awhile & my apartment was robbed, (while I was home) & also had a neighbor who was pistol whipped & mugged.
Crime has no address.

Jersey "CITY".... cities have noise. If you want quiet, move to the burbs.

You can't blame anyone without knowing all the facts of the situation. The person watching the dog wasn't the dog's owner so he may not have known the dog that well. I know families with kids & Pitbulls and they have nothing but good things to say. I also know people with typically friendly breeds that have issues. You can't stereo type an entire breed of dog because of some evil people who have used Pitbulls for their own wrong doing. Pitbulls have developed a bad reputation because of people who have taken advantage of the breeds loyalty & power.
I wish the boy a quick recovery.
