My husband and I really like it, if you can manage to get there during "off" hours. Our schedule allows us to workout in the mid-to-late afternoon, which is practically dead. If you go there after 6pm, however, expect madness.
The locker rooms are kept very clean, there is plenty of cardio equipment as well as free weights, machines, ropes, and bosu balls spread out over two floors.
Like the other poster said, bring your own towel. Overall, it's a great space if you're not looking for group classes.

Fantastic! Thanks for your thoughts, everyone!
I've been to a lot of the places mentioned but there are definitely some new ideas for me to try.

I can't wait for Porta! It's one of my favorite casual places to go whenever I'm down in AP.

I don't know why I posted this under "real estate." That's what I get for posting from my phone!

Trying it again...

My husband and I have fallen into a dining rut whenever we're on this side of the Hudson. We'd love some suggestions for places to try in the area.
We're pretty open about trying new foods, so tell me what your favorite JC/Hobo restaurant is and why :)

Thanks!

P.S. Congrats on your closing!!!

Thank you!!!

I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to post exactly where we are purchasing. I've been lurking on this site since we moved to the Heights almost two years ago and I was convinced that if I posted about buying in a neighborhood other than Hamilton Park, Downtown, etc I would face a barrage of responses telling me how many times I can expect to be killed on a given day. I'm really happy that wasn't the case

Ok, so according to Skyl4rk's map we are in Marion but Google maps makes it look like Marion is to the west of West Side, above the cemetery.
We are moving to Corbin between Stuyvesant and Sip. Is that Marion?

Neighborhood map??

My husband and I are closing on a house in Journal Square very soon. I know there are eleventy billion sub-neighborhoods in the general area of where we are moving but I haven't been able to figure out where exactly we fall.
Does anyone have a link to a comprehensive map that breaks down all of the smaller neighborhoods?
I know I could just say that I live in Journal Square but there seems to be a lot of great neighborhood associations in that area that I would like to become a part of when we move. I just want to know which one we would belong to.
Thanks all!

Cordero Elementary School
#7

Hello!

My family and I currently live in Hoboken, but are interested in a space right near Hamilton Park.
I searched the JCBOE website and it lists Cordero Elementary as the school that covers the zone the property is in.
I am looking for feedback about this school.
I do not like to look solely at test scores and such, so I was hoping for some perspective from actual parents.
My daughter is currently in 4th grade, if that is helpful.

Thank you!!!
