Is it safe to walk on John F Kennedy blvd at night?

Hi All,
I am planning to take a place at the intersection of John F Kennedy blvd and Fairmount Avenue. How safe is Fairmount Avenue, and JFK Blvd? I heard that JFK is pretty safe if you walk from 6 am to 11 pm. Is that true? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
