What about Vroom btw Summit & Baldwin?

I checked spotcrime.com and it lists the following recent events:

June 3, 2010...corner of Vroom and Summit: 28 year old stabbend and robbed of $400. Suspect was a woman.

May 23, 2010...Vroom and Bergen: 53 year old man was beaten senseless after an argument over a parking spot.

In general the best parts of this neighborhood are between Summit and Westside from East to West, and Montgomery and JSQ North to South. The Nicest blocks being those directly around Saint Peters, and most of the blocks between Kennedy and Bergen.

Yea West Side is a good area for the money and I just recently moved down by LSP and for 900 got a 2 bedroom with HUGE fenced in backyard

What is your budget? I know of a nice 1 bedroom on West Side for 850.00 in a VERY quiet area

HA...I wish that was in my budget its more like $700-$725 max!

Closer to JSQ? yes
Safer? Meh, not so sure about that.

Recommendation: move closer to St. Peter's College.[/quote]

Okay thank you all...if i could move closer to Grove I would but the budget doesn't cover that. I will continue to look in the area of Journal sq and I will check out St. Peter's College...I will keep posting my findings....thank you all!

Okay I have decided that I will not place myself in danger no matter how AWESOME the apt is...I have found another place on baldwin ave about 7min walk from journal sq, i will be checking it out today its on Baldwin ave between High st and Newkirk...i was told it is safe but it doesn't look safe...it is crowded, but it is closer to Journal Square, only 7min walk....all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

its not great, not terrible either.

Thanks but how is it for a 30yr old female that gets off from her second job at 10pm at night which is in NYC the viliage area, which means that i might get to journal square around 11pm or even if im hanging out with friends and get home late...(i know i am paranoid, but i dont know much about NJ and I have lived in decent parts of NYC all my life)...i hope that walkin home that late from journal square isn't going to get me harrassed!!
