my car was broken into a week ago on 8th right on the park - window was shattered - nothing was visible in the car. have seen more police patrolling the park at night which is good. really hope crime in the area is not increasing.

Car Vandalism
#2

My car was parked on McWilliams between 8th and Pavonia over the weekend. When I went to get something from it last night I noticed that it had scratches all over it - It was keyed very badly all over one side - including on the trunk where someone started to write their name in the car. I was wondering if anyone had anything like happen to their car over the weekend. Trying to figure out if this was a single incident or there were other cars damaged. Also - wanted to warn others to watch their cars in the HamPark area. I know there have been thefts and now vandalism.

Went yesterday for the first time - love the set up and the whole vibe of the place. Tons of seating and a great view. Definitely didn't feel like I was in JC and this place is a great option on a summer weekend when you aren't at the beach.

The main problem was the warm beer from the tap. On a hot day, there is nothing like a COLD refreshing beer. Yesterday the beers were way too warm. The bartender said it was the weather and they were just "getting warm really fast" however they weren't cold out of the tap. I think the owner should make this the number one priority to have COLD BEER. My only other complaint was the amount of bees in the sand. There were hundreds of them and they just swarmed around your feet. We had to move to a picnic table quickly to get away from them. Hopefully they can put something in the sand that will prevent this in the future.

Other than that, it was a good experience overall. The frozen drinks were good (although a mudslide should definitely be added to the menu!) and the fries were great. Will definitely go back.

This is the second time I'm hearing of an increase in apartment break-ins. There have also been many car break ins in the area.

What block is your building located on?

Went last night - Waited at least 30 minutes - both lines were very long. Didn't mind the wait since it was a nice night and a Sunday but probably wouldn't wait like that again.

The same exact thing happened to me. I was ticketed at the bus stop on 8th & west hamilton on a Sunday. The judge threw it out but my husband had to take a day off of work to go and fight it. I live right across the street from the bus stop and also saw a cop ticketing there this past weekend. I warn my neighbors not to park there anymore! It's really a pain since the signs clearly indicate that parking there on weekends should be OK!

Caution Dog Walkers

There is an old Asian woman walking 6 little white dogs around Hamilton Park multiple times a day. You probably can hear them barking if you live in the area. Some of these dogs are not on their leashes and are nasty to other dogs.Let's protect our park from ignorance. Be careful with your pet. Call the police if you see this. This lady is reckless.

Re: Hamilton Park Renovation - Update

Defacing anything in this newly renovated park is a shame. But clearly a mistake has been made. The pet free zone signs are tacky and make the park look terrible. Things were fine before these signs went up. Dog owners do not feel welcome anymore. Some owners do not take their dogs in the dog run for various reasons. These dogs should have adequate room on the grass to roam free or sit with their owners (on a leash of course). If they designate 2 of the grassy areas for pets, things will be divided equally and the dog owners should be happy, and will be more likely to follow the rules.
Where is the kid-free zone??? Keep an eye out next time you are in the park...its not the dogs destroying the grass...
