I'm not 100% sure, but its all I can come up with. Last year at city hall there were more food trucks than vendors. So its not like these people are homophobic and don't want to be there. I still miss El Chilango outside the Grove Path late at night. I wonder how many food options will be at the Downtown Festival in September.

Absolutely not. That was horrible and horrific. That I want to believe was an insane asshole. Look I get all your points (not you Monroe, all the replies here)

We as the human race need to stop with the color shit, that is what I'm trying to convey here. Not all cops are murders, once we eliminate color, it's all just insane assholes. That is all. I apologize for equating you to Hitler Jcman. It just makes me insane. This race shit.

It was a lot of fun, sorry just seeing your post now Saradove. Out of all the prides here I've been too, this was the best. The waterfront was lovely but too spaced out, when it was in front of city hall it sucked. This was nicely laid out, ran into many friends. The only thing lacking was food. There were 3 food stands, that's it. I was hoping for more food trucks, but alas Two Boots ruined that for all of us. Bitter much, yes.

Tell that to the 'black lives matter' folks-all lives matter!

As much as I'd like to agree that all lives matter, they don't. this has grown tiresome.

Seriously. The one thing I feel like downtown is missing is a fresh seafood place, but I have bought seafood from Shop Rite, La Conga and Key Food and haven't died. I don't understand this fucking need for a TJ'S or WF's here. All grocery stores suck as does food shopping and doing laundry. Christ. Also I hate, HATE Prato because of this thread, never been there but don't care. It's not near me so who fucking cares. My god, when you get caught doing something you shouldn't you get punished. Prato has people clamoring for them, if this was a Puerto Rican coffee shop half you would be outside with brooms and burning shit. I've had several friendly conversations with him in passing and he joked about the weather and invited me to church. But lately, he's been going around the neighborhood screaming about how all homosexuals are going to hell. Today he practically screamed right in my sleeping baby's face as my husband was pushing him in the stroller.

It seems like his behavior is getting more extreme and I am a little concerned that he might be dangerous.

Its true. Growing up there was Old Man Marley in my hood.. He was called "the South Bend Shovel Slayer", and was said to have murdered his family and half of the people on the block with a snow shovel back in 1958. He was also said to have kept his victims in his garbage can full of salt, and that the salt was supposed to have turned the dead bodies into mummies.

You are crazy for listening to Buzz, he's a known liar and jerk, and his girlfriend,.... WOOF!!!!

Just like I have no sympathy for anyone who joined Amway, MonaVie, Mary Kay, Primerica or any of those other "network marketing" or "direct selling" operations, whatever the hell they're supposed to be. Everyone I knew that joined those glorified pyramid schemes did so with stars in their eyes and thinking they were going to become millionaires within a couple years. They failed to recruit me into it or get me to buy any product from them, ended up losing money and quit within a year or two. Not one became a millionaire.

Even if these guys at the door aren't personally trying to scam anyone, at the end of the day, they are just the trained robots designed to pitch for a big major scam. In the long run, you will NOT save money by buying electricity through a third party reseller, end of story. The first month or two might be cheaper than buying from PSE&G but you will live to regret it after that.

At night time the trains are packed and stop in Hoboken first, sometimes sitting at the station for an extra 10 minutes.

The trains already run infrequently. There is obviously a demand for more service but they'd rather pack us up like sardines in a can.

I often walk from the Upper West Side to WTC to save myself the headache of being in a packed train since the NYC subway is packed along the line that runs to where I want to go, but at least it comes more often at night.

The Metrocard machines at Grove are often out of new cards or won't accept payments after 5PM on a weekday, which for some of us is when we're going to the city whether it be for work or other things. It's still costing us time and money nonetheless.

If only they allowed bicycles through the tunnel, but I'm sure they'd find a way to charge us for the smoggy air to breathe.
congrats on walking from upper west to wtc....how long does it take you?

I know, right. When I want brunch, I go to this underground warehouse in Bayonne. Ask for Little Tony, and when he shows up, sock him in the gut as hard as you can to prove that you're real enough for his not-at-all-phony Eggs Benedict. If you want a Mimosa with your egg white frittata, you're going to have to arm-wrestle Ivan for the privilege - you probably won't win, but as long as you give a good effort, he'll be glad to mix up some of his street Champagne and orange juice for you authentically.

In all seriousness, though, I just had a really good brunch at Union Republic. Other than being slightly out-of-the-way, not sure why the place isn't more crowded.

As for Union republic, I live in this building and we were super excited for them to go in but the two times I've gone it was nothing but problems. One of the times was brunch on a Sunday morning at 11 am. They ran out of orange juice and French toast (one of the only vegetarian options they have). The other time was at night and they were super rude about serving drinks. It just has never been worth the trouble and I live there! I think there are much better places to go for brunch. Unfortunately.

Dear Neighbors:

A developer has proposed a gargantuan, 18 story building for the corner of Barrow and Christopher Columbus. (Only seven stories are currently allowed.) This building will contain approximately 143 units (probably rental) and a mere 56 parking spaces. It will be almost three times taller than any building along Columbus west of Grove Street. If built, this project will fundamentally change the character of Christopher Columbus Drive and Van Vorst Park, clog our already crowded streets with more traffic, and make our difficult parking situation untenable. Moreover, it will set a dangerous precedent going forward.

You can have your voice heard by coming to the Barrow Mansion on Tuesday, May19th at 7:00 p.m. when the developer makes its presentation. Councilwoman Candice Osborne will be there to take your questions and hear your concerns.

Thanks,
Aaron and Liz Morrill

This is really awful, but I have to ask, why are you really against it? Do you own another giant tower here, we all know you don't like competition and spreading the wealth.
