So last night while complaining about escalators, it was brought to my attention that even if you're disabled and using those escalators helps you, you still have to walk up TWICE AS MANY STAIRS just to get to the escalators.

Does anyone know why didn't they install an elevator when they put in the new station at Grove Street?

Cleaning Service Recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a good cleaning service? I came home last Friday to see that my current (well now, former) cleaning service did less than a half-ass job. I'm not incredibly picky or anything. If I am paying to have my apartment cleaned, I just expect it to be cleaned.

If you pause it at 1:03 it looks like there is a white chevy decal in the rear window... The news said it was a ford- but I am sure the police already watched the surveillance video in slow motion...

I bought a bike at Grove Street Bicycles about 2 weeks ago and I highly recommend purchasing a bike from them. I spent about $500 and got a mountain bike (Specialized Hardrock Sport) that I absolutely love. The people who work there aren't bike snobs and don't pressure you to buy things. If you buy a bike there they offer free basic tune ups for the life of the bike. I had planned to go to a shop in Brooklyn but am really happy that I could make this purchase at a local JC business.

Just as it is ignorant to stereotype people, I find it quite ignorant when people stereotype dogs. If you want to site dog stats, why don't we look at crime stats and start imprisoning certain groups of people? It's a slippery slope.

I have two pit mixes who I love dearly. They are great with other dogs, people and children. As a child I was attacked by a Chow Chow and had a pretty serious injury- which makes me sensitive to both sides of the issue. I don't think the answer is banning specific breeds, though.

People need to be responsible for their actions and therefore, their pet's actions. That's the bottom line.

I am really happy to see that historic areas of JC other than downtown are getting some recognition. I am looking forward to the tour tomorrow. Is there a raindate?
