You think my 3 year old will be snooty for going to paid preschool? You call me stuck up, at least I don't have my head stuck up my ass. Quote:

As Monroe points out, you are at least self aware, the rest of the complainers undoubtedly share your views but are dishonest regarding their motivations.

"internetzed"? Clearly it's better for me to take subjective recommendations from bias parents who have kids in the school rather than a scientific and objective approach based on test scores. You should read the internet sometime you might learn a thing or two. My kid would be at Cornelia F. Bradford No. 16, which has a great score of 7. If he doesn't get in then we will pay for private school.

I'z internetzed it! It must be true!

The Pre-K program was fine. This is from people who attended it, as opposed to people who looked at the "Great Schools" Ranking.

For what it's worth (NOTHING). Cordero is rated a 3 out of 10 on that site.

I had the same concerns as others about having to put a 3 year old on a bus. As it turns out our daughter was able to get into one of the spaces downtown. But I know plenty of families that sent their kids on the bus to P.S. 22 in Lafayette. It becomes a non-issue after a couple of weeks.

Having said that, I do not think it will be a major issue. Suffice it to say that there is probably downtown space that can be used even if the Annex is not given over to P.S. 37.

There is no way I am going to take the effort to raise signatures for some sort of ballot requirement. I think you are missing my point. Good luck developing the rest of the city, call me in 2095 when that's all done. Here's a tip, you might want to start with the open air drug markets and tearing down the boarded buildings.

Fulop knows this and that's why he doesn't give a flying f about putting free preschool downtown. Bottom line!

Bingo! Thanks for your honesty.

Fulop as mayor represents all of JC, and it's the rest of JC that doesn't give a flying f about putting free preschool downtown. Fulop ran on a platform of shifting more development and investment from downtown to other wards. He's simply delivering on that promise.

If you think he's not representing the best interests of JC, raise the required signatures, put the issue on the ballot, and let the chips fall where they may.

Case in point, do it downtown and you get caught. Only the dumbest criminals would commit crimes in areas were they are more likely to be held to account. While DT more have more wealth to steal from, they will also catch your ass. Have fun in Juve, ass-wipes! Hopefully they try you as adults. Too bad we don't have Singapore's punishment and they could just give you a few good lashings.

Problem with that logic is that if you do commit a crime in those areas, the citizens are more likely to demand action on the part of the community and police than other areas of the city where crime is an everyday fact of life and the neighborhood and or cops can tend to be complacent or overwhelmed.

It's not a hardship to bus your kids to free preK. It's an inconvenience at worst. The City doesn't owe you, because life was somehow easier for previous generations. Wouldn't the City's $750k/year would be better spent directly to help families living in real poverty in the City?

There is a relationship between wasteful spending, higher taxes, and the middle classes ability to make ends meet. The middle class squeeze isn't simply a tale of demons from Wall Street.

There isn't a constitutional right to have an preK school within walking distance of your home. If you don't want your kids to take a bus, you have the option of paying for private preK or driving them to the school yourself-car pool maybe?

The more I learn about this the more repulsed I become. Unbelievable that this guy is allowed to play in the NFL. This reflects horribly poor judgment on the Jets and Johnson & Johnson. There are other QB's out there that they could have picked up. The people who say he did his time and I'm still gonna root for the Jets, I hope that you fully explore the depth of his atrocities and come to terms with cheering for a guy who put dogs in bathtubs and electrocuted them for fun and profit. I will be skipping the Jets games until he is released.

Not sure what people are referring to when they say it's just the culture. What culture in this country promotes canine savagery? He grew up in Newport News, VA. So it's culturally acceptable because he was poor, black and from VA? That's BS!

Can't wait until they dissolve the Jersey City Putz Authority. 100% completely inept.

How many visitor parking permits can you buy at one time? Depends on how Grandma at the JCPA feels on that day, could be 3 could be 10. Don't try your luck at 15. Just be sure to have an exact amount in the form of a bank check or money order.

I also got a parking ticket for "Parking Without Valid Permit" today, the sticker is on the back left side of the car where it's been for 2 years without an issue. I think we have a new lazy/uninformed officer on our hands. So annoying because I'm just gonna pay it and they know it. $40 isn't worth my vacation day. Who's to say it's not going to happen again though. I'll have my eye out for the particular officer to ask him why he can't see my permit.

You should report them to the city if 8 hours have passed and the snow/ice has not been cleared. http://mygovhelp.com/JERSEYCITYNJ/_cs ... stSelect.aspx?sSessionID=

Then srcoll to the bottom and click on the unshoveled sidewalk option. The city will investigate and issue a violation.

I just took Verizons arm, put it behind it's back and shoved their head into a bucket of water for messing up my netflix and got $10 off my bill for a year. Just ask to speak with the elite customer service dept and be persistent and pissed. Mention Netflix, cogent and the CEO talking about making a deal but holding the Netflix customer hostage in the mean time. Mention your amazing fast internet speed tests except Netflix still sucks. Tell them you blame them and your leaving for Comcast unless you get compensated in some form or another. It worked for me! (After 3 hours and 4-5 calls) Netflix still doesn't work though so they will need to be cancelled as well. Verizon actually had the nerve to mention Redbox to me at one point. Bastards! I was bluffing the whole time though, Comcast is like a crazy ex-girlfriend you never want mentioned again. I absolutely can not stand the Comcast customer service and vowed to never again sign up with them. Verizon has been great but they need to feel pressure from customers to get this deal done, it's completely unacceptable that I get 30mbps download speed and can't stream Netflix on the lowest quality setting.

I appreciate your position and feel the same. The only thing is that all private options are not full by any means. There are plenty of private pre-k options, they just cost what a year of college education will cost you. The idea that someone would actually leave because they can't get free Abbott district pre-k is really a non-starter. Where are you going to go where you will get free pre-k? It would have to be another Abbott district. Not many and definitely not as desirable as DT. Downtown JC is in a unique position in that fact.
Clearly the people joking on this topic do not have kids, probably don't own their residence and make no money, but we can thank them for our status as an Abbott district. Thank you ass clowns!
