a) John McCain hasn't run a city
b) he hasn't run a state
c) clearly doesn't run his household if he doesn't know how many houses he even owns
-->Subpoint here, he did almost run his campaign into the ground -- remember when he almost took public funding for the primary or were you not paying attention then?
d) what does that even mean "by the look of it he [Obama] doesn't run his household"
e) care to comment on why "George w 'A-Hole" Bush" is "my boy" - why would i support Obama if I were a GWB supporter?
f) Finally, what does "Empty Suit" do to move the debate forward? How is that contributing to anyones knowledge or insight into this election? Your little ad hominem attacks on Obama say nothing to convince someone to vote for the alternative?

What is your solution then, vote for no one? Vote for McCain and more war and more debt? Yes, your post was moronic because it didn't put forth any sort of cogent argument about why I'm wrong.

Also note, I didn't call you personally a moron, but you certainly did to me. So my friend, I would ask YOU to look in your mirror.

Make that +2...Amazing isn't it - that people claim that Obama is light on specifics but don't do any research to find out the answers.

For instance, I don't find McCain's point very specific when he talks about him being a "tax-cutting conservative" but sure enough if I look at his website, I'll find he wants to lower the corporate tax rate to 25% from 35% and make Bush's tax cuts permanent. From that information I can surmise that our already $500bn deficit would most likely grow larger in a McCain Presidency. On the other hand, when Obama says he wants to enact a middle class tax-cut, that sounds incredibly vague and a bunch of election year pandering. But sure enough, if you go to his website, you'll find that yes, he wants to let Bush's cuts expire for the top 1% of earners and return the top marginal bracket to 39.6% and give those in the middle & bottom tax cuts - leaving tax receipts unchanged, until you factor in his Health Care plan (also a specific proposal that can be found on his website).

So while it's a very popular knee-jerk reaction to say Obama is being vague and only has soaring rhetoric, there are real policies that back up the rhetoric. But the point is, it's all spelled out in detail, and certainly doesn't fit snuggly into a 15 second sound bite for your network news. It would be nice if people voted on actually policy differences rather than more superficial criteria. It would also be nice if people did their homework before voting...

But it's easier to make moronic posts like "empty suit" rather than engage in anything resembling rational discussion.

All of his hoopla over change, change, change has to be backed up with specifics - at this point I just see him as another politician blowing hot air like the rest of them.

Many people are caught up with him but couldn't name one thing he has accomplished (as a senator, NOT being the first black candidate for President) or give specifics on HOW he plans to CHANGE the mess in Washington DC - if their dear life depended upon it.

+1 Amy!

"JC_Man" is just another tool for McCain/Bush and Reptilians trying to spread the party line with dis-information about Obama not having specifics. All you have to do is go to his site to read "specifics", but these blowhards would rather shoot from the hip with the same Bush/Rove claptrap they've been spoutin for 8 years.

This is not the first time an incident like this has happened in that nieghborhood, they need to sweep the entire area. Everyone needs to be involved, the police , DEA , Immigration, DYFS, State Police. They need to do repeated drug raids, all people arrested should have thier children taken from them , they should have the IRS come in an examine the tax returns for these people and sieze thier homes if they can't prove the income they are bringing in supports the life style they arre living, take thier cars, let immigration DEPORT anyone that is not legally here. I'm not just saying this about this nieghborhood in particular they should do this in all areas where there is a high drug problem. Take the money they conficate and put it to good use , use it towards supporting the now homeless children, forget about the drug rehab centers they want to kill themselves give them the option either jail or or quit and get a jog and make yourself useful to this world. If you choose jail then make them work in jail that will be productive not just sit around all day wasting my money. Why should my taxes go towards hepling people get off drugs. I am so tired of hearing about the less fortunate people of this city and how they have no opportunity to advance, they have plenty of programs out there to help them get an education, training for jobs for free, meanwhile the rest of use are putting ourselves in debt to get better educations so we can get better paying jobs. On my days off when I in the city all I see are pepople sitting around on street corners day after day, you can't tell me they are all off that day. I left the house one day and saw this group of guys, young mid 20's early 30's, sitting outside of a house I left work early that day around 4pm and saw the same gruop still sitting there this time they were all drunk. I have to be honest here I go to work everyday even when I don't feel like it, and we've all had a job in our lives that we didn't like but went to it because it was all we had and needed to pay our bills, but we did it anyway. So why can't they I've heard people say they won't work in a fastfood resturant or pump gas because it's beneath them, well when you don't have an education what do you want, h*ll at least its honest money. I've some of the worst paying jobs in the world ,I've had some of the best paying jobs in the world I tell you this me personally I have never made fun of someone for the position they hold in life as far as I am concerned as long as you are legally working you are OK in my book. So for all that are reading this do us all a favor and get off your butts and become a productive part of this society and if you can't read then ask a friend to read it to you. Everyone has something to say about the immigrants coming to this conutry and taking jobs, why complain you aren't doin them anyway, at least they are willing to work. I think we should have an exchange program take all the people of the world who want to work and be productive and bring them here, then take all the people who want to sit around all day and have things handed to them and ship them off to an island, a barren wasteland and let them fend for themselves. That will make them alittle more appreciative of what they have here.

I have a good friend of mine who came to this country as a child, couldn't speak english. Managed to learn the language, left home at the age of 14 because he didn't agree with his fathers way of thinking, his father didn't like the american culture, worked at night while he went to high school during the day, had to work two full time jobs while he was putting himself through college because he made too much money for financial aid, so he had to take out loans to pay for school. Took him seven years to get his degree. So if he could do with all things against him then so can others.

So before we get into a great debate on the social economics of the nieghborhood and they are disadvantaged and how the people there are uneducated that is why they reacted the way they did when the police showed up on a DRUG raid, lets stop and just leave it as some, not all, of the people there just don't care they don't care how they live, they just want to do whatever they want when they want and don't belive they have to be responsible for or held repsonsible for anything. Some of them believe that they shouldn't have to follow the rules because its thier nieghborhood and nobody should be able to tell them how they have to live in it. And its not just that nieghborhood, there are others just like it. Well to that I say too bad if the rest of have to follow the rules then so should you.

Thank you for your time.

The probelm with most people who subscribe to the leftist propaganda and limp wristed bleeding hearts is that they themselves have never encountered one of these lowlifes like those throwing bottles, etc and therefore they feel that for some reason these people don't have the where with all to pull them selves out of the gutter and make something of their lives.Fact remains so much opportunity is given to these people and they outright piss all over it and who's stuck footing the bill, guess who ?????? Did you guess yet??? None other than the poor slobs like myself that get their ass out of bed early in the morning and come home late in the eve just so that enough taxes can be taken out of my paycheck to accomodate "SCUM" .

PEOPLE REALLY THINK THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE ????

BTW, I'm neither Mule or Elephant, because both partys have seriously failed us and continue to do so until some politician with Balls the size of Jupitor steps up to plate and starts to say it like it is and not pander to "SCUM"!!!

This is kind of a waste of time, I know, but I'm going to say it anyway.

There is no question that the conditions in the neighborhood in question are bad, like unlivably bad, and that the behavior of some of the people in that neighborhood contribute to that condition, even cause it.

I do not question that there is a antisocial element that is downright dangerous. I avoid those areas myself, which pisses me off.

The other side of this argument has to do with racial and socio-economic profiling. I don't know what this particular person's problem was. From the description, it sounded like he was going for suicide by cop. Who knows what that's about.

My point is that the language we use to talk about this is significant. People who are in the process of killing each other and themselves don't need further dehumanization. It's no antidote to any ill.

OK, you're venting. But let's not pretend it's an argument of any sort. That's just weak.

Not an argument, just stating the facts.
Thanks for your eloquent rant BTW.

Burglars loot Central Avenue store

JOURNAL STAFF WRITER

Burglars smashed a jewelry store door on their first trip and then came back to finish the job later - cleaning out more than $200,000 in gold and diamonds from a Jersey City business Sunday, police said.

Detectives investigating the break-in at Young's Fine Jewelry on Central Avenue yesterday morning said a burglar pried open the metal gate outside the store, crawled under it and smashed the glass front door with a brick at about 3:30 a.m.

Cops responding to the store's alarm saw a small garbage pail holding up the gate and a brick next to the front door, which was shattered but was still locked and secure, police reports said.

Police closed the gate and left, but were called to the store yesterday morning at 10:30 when the owner reported that his store's merchandise was gone.

Display cases along the right and back of the store were empty yesterday afternoon except for a few scattered, overturned ring boxes. According to reports, the thief got away with diamond earrings, rings and chains.

The owner, who refused to be interviewed yesterday, told cops he closed his store at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and that when he returned yesterday morning at 10:30 a.m. the gate appeared normal and the lock was intact.

But the bottom of the shattered glass door had been trimmed out, allowing it to open like a flap, reports said.

I don't know, call me Naive, but the cops respond to an Alarm, find gate open and door ajar and noone bothers to walk inside to see if all is Kosher???

What Am I missing here ????

There is a reason why you must appear in court for this violation. If it was just about the money, they would let you pay by mail. Oh, you WILL pay the fine but that's not the half of it. I must say I don't envy you, it will be a most unpleasant experience. You see, in the local judges' minds, there is nothing lower on the face of this earth than a person who parks in a handicapped space. You would have been better off had you robbed an old lady of her life savings or murdered several nuns. It is actually quite an event in the municipal court, I have seen it. The workers from the court offices usually come to watch. The judge will prepare his speech the night before. They usually bus in several handicapped people from local hospitals and nursing homes. The judge usually begins with "DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE?" "HOW...COULD....YOU?" "HOW ....COULD...YOU?". This will go on for maybe 45 minutes during which time the angry handicapped crowd behind you will jeer and throw rotten vegetables and dog feces at you (don't wear good clothes). The judge will end his rant with "NOW GET OUT OF MY COURTROOM!!!". As you skulk out of the courtroom, the incensed handicapped mob will spit at you and kick and slap you if they have arms and legs. So yeah, it's gonna be pretty damn ugly.

You have way too much time on your hands.....'

Does that mean I plead "not guilty" even though I technically am "guilty" and admit as much?

YOUR GUILTY, this is Jersey city and if you intend to make a case like what you just stated, the Municipal judge is going to have a chuckle at the very least.

Pay the Ticket and move on, all handicap spaces in JC are well marked and your excuse is not going to fly in Hudson Cty.

Gene Simmons has been frequenting JC for many years.
He produces alot of Indie bands in the area.

He use to produce a Japaneese hvy metal band who would rehearse at a studio up in the heights back in the very late
80's.
