Never heard of City Diner?

Just because it exists doesn't necessarily make it worth mentioning. Brownstone isn't even that great. Downtown needs a decent diner.

Oh, please. It's still a real diner option.

Flamingo was a real diner, City Diner not so much

I was visiting a friend at Zephyr Lofts on Jersey and Observer Blvd on Sunday for the first time and he was telling me they called his rental a one bedroom despite the fact that there were no windows in the bedroom, instead it had french doors that opened up to the living room and the outside windows. Should it have been marketed as a studio? probably

Jersey City pays man $20K to settle warrantless-search lawsuit

By Ron Zeitlinger | The Jersey Journal
December 17, 2015 at 1:26 PM

A Jersey City man whose apartment was searched illegally by police almost three years ago will receive $20,000 from Jersey City to settle a lawsuit.

Keith Pantaleon, who now lives in New York, was charged with possession of an assault rifle and other related counts, but those charges were dismissed by Hudson County Superior Court Judge John Young in February 2014, a month after Young had ruled the police officers' search illegal.

In that ruling, Young was extremely critical of the officers involved, Ehab Abdelaziz and Sean Francis Licata, saying they were not truthful in their testimony during an evidentiary hearing.

Young wrote that Abdelaziz and Licata testified that they stood in Pantaleon's doorway and did not enter his apartment until they saw a gun. Two witnesses, Panaleon's landlord and another tenant, testified that police entered the apartment with them, although the landlord was not given permission by Pantaleon to enter the apartment.

I agree that if the pedestrian plaza will be a permanent fixture that something has to be done to accommodate bike riders... however this should be part of a broader discussion about bikes on the sidewalks in all of Jersey City.

Outside of young children riding on the sidewalk, it is incredibly dangerous (and illegal). I've been clipped by bikers several times on Newark and have had a number of close calls with my dog as well.

If I've experienced this on a regular/less-crowded sidewalk, the addition of bikes to the pedestrian plaza (without any specific guidelines) will result in injuries.

Given that this is still new, now is a great time for the administration to propose a solution.

It really isn't. Now you're unhappy that people disagree with you over the colors of a freakin' cloth. By the way, I'm fairly ambivalent on this topic and see both sides here. But I find it ridiculous that some people feel as though there shouldn't be a debate and that this shouldn't be decided democratically, one side should just be declared "wrong" and that should be the end of it. That side lately has always been the left wing, by the way.

And realistically, it is only a matter of time before the flag goes away.

Well said. Democracy doesn't mean you get your way only. Many liberals seem to have forgotten this.

What possible debate can or should you have about the confederate flag? I has only had one meaning, as expressed here by the person who created it - http://mic.com/articles/121082/here-s ... f-the-man-who-designed-it

And if only conservatives also remembered democracy is not about only getting their way - http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/bobby-jind ... ts-just-get-rid-the-court

Over the past week or so, I have heard two or three people raving about the wings at BWW. I have visited two different locations (not in this area) and have not been impressed, at all. I don't get the love for this place. If nothing else, I think it shows that anything above mediocre will do well in this area, given the poor choices. I honestly don't know of many good places where to get wings in this area, even after visiting many, many bars, pubs and restaurants. Locally: Talde and Bon Chon are good, and so is Cluck U. Regionally: Pok Pok (in Brooklyn) has good wings, any Korean fried chicken place (especially when ordering drumsticks) is good, Atomic Wings is decent (are they still around?) and I have had good wings at a few local bars/pubs (Jack Demsey's, on 33rd, stands out, and the Lincoln Park Bar and Grill, on 56th and 9th Ave)

We just don't have good wings in this area, and BWW is sub par. Outside of this area, but close enough: Quaker Steak & Lube (a new location opened recently in Edison) and Moriarty's in Philadelphia. In fact, I have had chicken wings all over the world, and I don't think I have ever had better wings than the ones in Moriarty's: the wings are PERFECT (huge, meaty, moist) and their fries are good, with a ton of really good draft beer choices.

Talde and Bon Chon??? good lord, have you ever had a actual Buffalo wing? 9th and Coles Tavern and White Star offer the best downtown currently. Lucky 7 used to have good wings but that changed with the kitchen staff. Not sure about the West Side or heights for wings currently. Oh and if you're in city on the East side, Blue Moon Saloon will even ask you if you want them done the proper Buffalo way and baked after being fried and basted. 1 Fry, 2 Baste, 3 Bake 4 Re-baste and serve

I actually had a woman in a white Jeep Cherokee flip me off as she sped past myself and about 6 kids waiting to cross. Always keeping things classy. Giant trucks, constant sirens and crazy drivers make Monmouth miserable. Try loading kids into a car on Monmouth or 9th without some ahole laying on the horn.

This is one of the worst corners, and it's a problem because that park is right there. Once i was trying to cross with my two little girls and their scooters. Car after car just kept going. One of them was a pair of cops who looked at us lazily and just kept going. I pointed at the sign and yelled in the window, " Thanks Officers!". They just kept going without batting an eye. Doesn't really matter to them because their kids live on a cul-de-sac in Howell.

Its not a real stop sign though. The only real one before that is like on 6th.

stop sign or not, they're required to STOP for pedestrians, I've stood patiently at that corner waiting for a break in traffic before and the drivers are complete assholes, I've also been flipped off by more than one when I point out the pedestrian crossing sign as well. I'm going to start carrying dead batteries to throw at these cars that can't manage to let pedestrians cross and then we'll see who has the last laugh.
